'07 FL QB Andrew Nowels

2-his wr looked real good to me. nice hands for hs kids and willing to take a hit over the middle.
I believe two of his targets this year were fomer tOSU LB recruit Colin McCarthy and Florida signee Riley Cooper. I've heard some reviews that say they were the main reason why Nowels was good, but they are guys known for their bitterness, so I took that with a grain of salt. I as well have heard rumors that Andrew has an offer from tOSU...

Now that would be a shock...

Not a shock at all. We've been saying for a while now that Nowels is most likely tOSU's number one target at QB, and that the interest is mutual (camp in 2005 and 2006). I think that posters like wadc45 and osugrad21 have proven over time that they know the lay of the recruiting land better than most of the "paid" reporters at other sites.

Moreover, the tOSU staff is a huge proponent of discovering kids at their camp, and making offers which might seem to be rather curious at the time (Malcolm Jenkins and Antonio Henton, for example). I think that Nowels is in that category.

Personally, I would be shocked if any of the Ohio QB's received an offer, and I also believe that very few Ohioans will be offered regardless of position.

I liked his touch and accuracy but is he from the same Clearwater Catholic as Collin McCarthy and Riley Cooper? If so keep in mind those are two great targets to have to throw to. I would like to see a little more arm strength and he seems to throw off of his back foot a bit. I think if he stepped into his throws more that he would get some zip on the ball. Overall a good looking prospect though and I would be a fan of waiting untill camp performances for an offer.

He is from the same school as Colin McCarthy and Riley Cooper and many reports have stated that it will be interesting to see how well he performs this year when he doesnt have that kind of talent around him. Will be interesting to see how well he does in camp.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge his arm strength based on a highlight video. Just because he doesn't throw bullets, or extremely long deep passes in the highlights doesn't mean he can't do it.

FWIW his coach in one of the updates said he has a really strong arm. Not that that means too much however.
