'07 AR RB Broderick Green (USC signee, Arkansas transfer)

from the same article:

The problem: Green verbally committed to USC long ago before deciding to seriously open up his recruitment in recent weeks. He made a recruiting visit to Penn State last weekend and is scheduled to visit Ohio State this weekend.

that article sounds like it was written in "blue and white" pen while wearing the "blue and white" glasses. im not saying we have a better shot at green, but at least we get the last visit out of him this weekend. hopefully, green will pull a "mark johnson" after his visit. a man can dream, can't he?!

what do you mean by 'pull a Mark Johnson'? if i remember correctly Johnson stated several times that OSU was his favorite. he just had to get the grades before he could get a firm offer and be able to visit. once he visited and got the okay from the staff he committed. are you just hoping he commits this week or is there some other connection that i'm missing?

i'm sorry for the confusion. i meant it merely for the fact that johnson came for the official visit and committed to the buckeyes very soon after. i remembered everyone was worried about his visit since the weather was freezing like this week's. i just hope that green will be so impressed with coach tressel, the program and The Ohio State University this weekend that he couldn't even wait till he gets home to commit to us.

My 2 cents...this kid is not coming to OSU. I am not trying to sound negative, but Penn State's depth chart has to look better than ours.

Losing Pittman with Wells, Wells, Saine, and Herron in the holster vs losing Hunt w/ I-don't-knows in the holster.

I think Broderick would get immediate PT if he came to tOSU, but what do I know. I also thought Ohio State made the most sense for Josh Brent and Joseph Barksdale from an immediate PT standpoint. Devon Still too.

IMO, move Maurice Wells to Slot WR so he can use his speed and work in space, then you only have Chris Wells and 2 true freshman tro beat out. Unless the coaches still feel Mo Wells is better suited for RB, but he showed flashes of what he can do on a few screen passes last year.

It's quite humorous perusing scout.com... many buckeye boards have conceded him to PSU, PSU boards to USC, and USC doesn't seem to talk about him much.

Green would be lucky to get quality carries next year at PSU with two seniors returning in Kinlaw & Scott. They have a few younger RBs, including a highly pursued RB named Royster who just redshirted (great offer list, lower in recruiting rankings due to injury).

OSU has Chris Wells, then a lot of question marks. Mo Wells is a veteran but has struggled between the tackles. Saine could end up at WR. Herron is a bit undersized for next year.

OSU used Beanie heavily as a clear #2 RB last year. Many expect a more run-oriented offense next year. It's quite possible he could get quality PT next year if he's up to the task.

IMO unless you are absolutely loaded the Depth Chart doesnt play as big of a role as some of us might think.

I would say looking at our depth chart vs PSU it would be a wash. Depth chart worreis come into play when you are talking about USC, but not PSU and tOSU in my opinion...

I still think we land Green. We have the last visit...he spoke earlier of a "connection" with JT and I think anyone with common sense sees the opportunity for carries here. Lots of other great points, but in my opinion, these few things alone will bring him to tOSU. We're due for a big out-of-state addition. I feel good about Green.
