Terps Check Out Prochak

By Phil Kornblut
Spartanburg QB Nick Prochak (6-3 212) attended Maryland's camp last weekend and thinks he showed the Terps a thing or two. "I made a good showing," he said. "I was pretty pleased with the way I performed. I jumped 32.5 inches, up from the Nike camp." Prochak said the Terps didn't have much information on him and he's sending more film. "I think I made myself known to the quarterbacks coach, Coach Taafe," he said. Prochak will attend USC's camp this weekend. He will go to Clemson June 17th and Vanderbilt on the 18th. He will go to Georgia the first weekend in July. Prochak said USC is a slight leader over Clemson and Georgia. He has not yet been offered.

Rivals has posted video of Nick in action. There are 4 videos, totalling 35 clips. Not too bad at all, he looks pretty good. I think that he looks athletic enough to play WR at the next level, if he doesn't make it at QB.
At 6' 4", 207 lbs (legit Nike combine numbers), he might have the size for LB or even TE. As a bonus, 4.60 forty, 4.01 shuttle (also Nike).

Last week, in the closing minute of the ballgame, Nick fumbled on a QB sneak which would have sealed the game. Gaffney recovered and punched a TD in the endzone to eliminate Nick and his Spartanburg teammates.

Prochak Lands Clemson Offer

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Nick Prochak (6-3 212) has picked up an offer from Clemson. "Coach Blackwell called me last night and he was straight forward in saying he was calling to extend an offer," Prochak said Tuesday afternoon. "I was speechless. It's a great feeling. They are recruiting me as an athlete." Prochak also has an offer from Furman and is getting strong interest from USC, Maryland and Vanderbilt. He has scheduled an official visit to Furman for January 6th. He also has scheduled visits to Clemson and USC on the same day, January 13th, so one will have to be rescheduled. Prochak said Clemson gets a slight edge on USC "since they have offered, but really neither has an advantage." Prochak played quarterback for the Vikings and will play in the Shrine Bowl.

Nick has been very impressive at safety during Shrine Bowl practices. He has offers from Clemson, Duke, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt and will visit the schools before deciding in January.

No mention of tOSU and I do believe this is a dead issue.
