'06 OH OT Lee Tilley (Auburn Verbal Commitment)

I wouldn't really consider Kansas a "Big time academic" school. Especially in regards to atheletics, according to the grad rates on the main page Kansas is 46th. While I am not knocking Kansas, calling them anything other than average may be going over board. :nerd:

Good thing JT does his own thing in recruiting and doesn't base his offers off of what UGA does... else, we may never win another NC!

I think that's an inappropriate comment--everyone knows that OSU and JT do their own thing, and there is no need to criticize this young man in the process.

Congratulations to Lee Tilley on getting an early offer at a top-level football program. Whether Ohio State offers him or not, it's a great offer, and it speaks volumes of the deep talent pool in Ohio on the line this year.

You can think this, but when someone states that just because UGA hasn't offered Brown yet and then implys that because UGA offered Tilley he must be the best because UGA is a top tier program, but hasn't won a national championship since 1980, 25 years ago, not to mention in those past 25 years, they've only managed to win 3 SEC championships, then I think it is fair game for what I stated.

No arguments here, if anyone has a problem with what I said earlier, feel free to PM me about it and lets discuss it there.

As for Tilley, in no way am I saying that we should not go after him, I'll leave that for the coaches to decide whether or not to offer him, but he seems like a great prospect with awesome measurables, resembling Boone from last year (6'7" / 300 / 5.0 - 5.1)

I don't see how msj2487's comments were a slam against Tilley. All he said was you can't rate a player based on who offered him, and that he's glad that JT and company don't go by what other staffs do...I agree 100%.

Regarding Tilley, here are some free clips of him dominating some DLineman from last year, courtesy of Sunshine Preps:

Lee Tilley Video

IMO he looked pretty good, I don't know what kind of competition he's going against but he was able to pancake a couple of guys as well as pull off of the line and show some nice speed and good downfield blocking skills. This guy looked every bit of 6'7" on the film, to me, and it just looked like he never quit blocking until the whistle blew. His ability to stand all the way up and get into position, poised and ready for the DL's attack, was pretty quick as well.

I'm in 100% agreeance with ya HS, especially about him looking slim in those pads! The "experts" maybe got their info wrong, he looks every bit of 6'7", but not every bit of 300 in pads.

The clips were a bit raggedty and not alot of them, but I thought I should share 'em anyways.

JT and his staff have shown they can evalute OL talent and get some of the very best. QUOTE]

This might be true but the problem has been developing the talent.

We had what 4 Olineman selected in the 04 draft ( and 2 of them started as Rookies) and it was one of the weakest units on the team.

But, you're right the talent was there....

Georgia and Kansas are Lee's leaders right now as they are the first tow schools to offer. He is on an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this weekend and plans to take a number of other unofficials this summer in addition to making the camping rounds. He will camp at tOSU which he calls an annual tradition. His bench is at 325 and his squat is over 400.

IMO, Lee will be evaluated again at camp this summer. If an offer is to be given, it will be done there.
