Miller heading to West Virginia
Friday, January 20, 2006
ZOAR - Tuscarawas Valley All-Ohio tackle Jake Miller has verbally committed to play football at the University of West Virginia, according to his high school coach, Dale Martini.
The 6-foot-6, 308-pound Miller’s final choices included Illinois, Akron and Bowling Green, but everything about the Mountaineers felt right, Martini said.
“It’s a very good fit for him,” Martini said. “West Virginia was the last place he visited, and he said he came away from there feeling the best.”
Miller will play in the Ohio North-South Game before heading for Morgantown. Martini said the Mountaineers are getting a smart player with a good work ethic and unlimited potential. “He’s a gifted, talented kid with the size to boot,” Martini said of his three-year starter. “He’s got good feet and the quickness to play at the college level and maybe beyond.”
