'06 NJ FB/DE Jason Adjepong (VPI verbal)

I think we have just as good a shot as everyone. I think he might want to keep the home folks happy and stay at home at Rutgers, but we will see.

I think having Jenkins on the team helps alot, especially seeign how well he did this year.

Good read from Chris Nida at BSB... Jason gets more detailed about his visit to tOSU. He really liked the academics, and Coach Tressel made a big impression on him. He was hosted by Malcolm Jenkins.

Jason's comments about JT, which some might say end up hurting OSU in today's world of negative recruiting, are what make me proud to be a Buckeye fan and glad that we have a guy like JT running the show. Jason is probably the 4th or 5th recruit in the last month or two that I have heard make remarks like that about JT and I think in the end that leads to OSU getting the type of student-athletes that we can all be proud of, whether it's when on the field, in the classroom, or in the community.

If I can comment on the post by Wadc....

If anyone has a chance, please read the latest update and pay attention to the comments that Adjepong makes in reference to Coach Tressel and how he approaches recruiting.

Just another example of why Coach Tressel is successful and how much he cares about the student athlete he recruits to Ohio State.

Buckeyes continue national search

Ohio State has always recruited hard throughout the Midwest but hasn't been afraid to take its name and compete for national recruits. One of the names Ohio State has zeroed in on from the nation from is Carteret, N.J., defensive end Jason Adjepong.

The 6-foot-3, 248-pounder took an official visit to Ohio State this past weekend and came away with positive things to say about the Bucks.

Adjepong was hosted on the visit by freshman cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, also a New Jersey native. Jenkins was one of the biggest contributors out of the 2005 recruiting class, earning several starts, and Adjepong would like to mimic his success if he ends up signing with Ohio State.

"I think it all comes down to timing," Adjepong said. "He was fortunately put in a position where he had a chance to come in and compete and really play. I see myself in a similar situation, where I can come in and compete and possibly play. He told me it's a lot of hard work, but anything is possible."

He is scheduled to visit Virginia Tech this weekend and Rutgers after that. He visited Michigan back in October and Boston College and Iowa have also been lined to him.
