Whitely has interest in a host of southern schools, and also Ohio State; his only current offer is from North Carolina. His 3,540 all-purpose yards in 2004 (2,666 rushing, 268 receiving, 606 returning) set a single-season record in the state of North Carolina.

As you might expect from a player who scored 39 times last season, Norman's videos are quite impressive. He can cut on a dime and has an amazing ability to weave through traffic, and once he gets into the open it's a footrace that Norman will win almost every time. Whitley has a decent amount of power for his size, and can break the occasional tackle; but speed and quickness is his game, and he can usually outrun the defense, or avoid contact with a well-timed juke or spin move. The big question concerning Norman is obviously his size.

Norman performed well at the recent Athens Nike combine, running 4.4 forties, 4.0 shuttles, and confirming the excellent cutting ability, agility, and lateral speed which he demonstrates on the football field.

Norman discusses all of the coaches who have come to visit his school thus far. Apparently, tOSU's interest has picked up lately and he discusses the great backs that have come from Columbus such as MoC and Eddie. Currently, North Carolina is his only offer.

Norman ran for 256 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns...in 3 quarters of play. He describes his recruitment as "dead" right now, but does say he has been in contact with Virginia and Ohio State. The author observes that Whitley's size could be a factor in his slow recruitment.

From Rivals100.com...Norman was at the VT/NC St. game last weekend. He is making an official to OSU this weekend. He thinks OSU is close to offering. He currently has offers from East Carolina and North Carolina.

Norman confirms that he might not be able to make an official visit to Ohio State for the Texas, although he is still trying to set the visit up with the staff. Norman also states that the Bucks are one of his leaders at this point. Whitley's team is 3-0 on the year, and he has 509 yards rushing so far.
