I'm guessing he's not far from qualifying. The staff has passed on higer rated players with questionable grades. We need an offensive tackle in this class.

I think JB projects as a Guard. He's only 6-3... that's a little short for a Tackle.

Shouldn't have stopped my thought short. You're right, Walton is a guard. We have plenty of those, I just wish we were in on more tackles.

Boone, Barton, Rehring, Smith...... that will be 3 sophmores and a freshman

Rehring was playing at guard against Iowa. Barton and Boone are true tackles. Skinner is listed as a tackle but can't crack the two deep. As we saw last night, if one of our tackles go down the OL is in trouble. Connor Smith could end up as a tackle, like Sims did, but he's projected as a guard. We also have Mitchum and Person, both guards, Cordle, a center, and the other OL we seem to be recruiting, Browning, Walton, Thomas and Nagy, are all guards. Even using your numbers, 4 tackles on the roster is clearly not enough.


Now back to Walton.

J.B. has academic issues - he has a tutor to assist him with his school work, and his ACT score is a couple of points too low. Look for Ohio State to pass on him due to his uncertain academic status.
