Antonio committed to Maryland last summer, but after a huge performance at the VT Nike Combine, where he was named MVP, Antonio feels the need to reopen his recruitment to examine other possibilities. While he tells Maryland fans there is nothing to worry about, Antonio does hold 21 offers from schools like Notre Dame, Tennessee, Miami, Boston College, Tennessee, Oklahoma, tOSU, and Penn State. He plans to visit Oklahoma, Tennessee, Boston College and possibly Miami. According to Rivals, Antonio is the number one prospect in the state of Maryland, and a Rivals 100 prospect on the national level.

so let me get this straight... he committed to Maryland, but pulled back his commitment after the VT Nike Camp?

This is actually a good sign for us (himopening up his recruitment), I think that by having a great workout that he knows he has the capabilities to play on a national championship team and we all know maryland isn't natl. championship caliber in football.

He actually hasn't "decommitted"...he's just allowing himself to look around at other schools and accepting more contact from other schools. We've had commits of our own in the past do that, too, and still they ended up coming here.

O.K. then if he hasn't decommitted, shouldn't the thread name be changed to verify that?

I think the thread title is fine, seeing as we offered him after he re-opened up his recruitment...it's not like Boren or other kids that committed elsewhere after we had been recruiting them (and after we started their threads). Those other kids that have committed elsewhere are now pretty much out of the picture, whereas Logan-El is not.

Antonio has re-opened his recruitment but has limited his current interest to Maryland, Penn State, Florida, Illinois, Boston College, and Oklahoma. He will definitely take offical visits to PSU and Florida but there could possibly be others.

Antonio Logan-El was a highly ranked (5*) recruit out of Maryland who made headlines when he picked PSU and shunned/embarrassed the Maryland coaching staff. At the time, I thought it was in bad taste, and I felt it embarrassed PSU as well.
What goes around comes around.
FightOnState is reporting that ALE has left the team. This follows a comment by Paterno at the opening of spring practice to the effect that ALE had to decide if he wanted to play football or not.
