'06 FL OL Sam Young (Notre Dame Verbal)

Scout $

4/13/05

Sam has nearly 30 offers from all over the country. He has taken unofficial visits to Miami, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Stanford and USC. However, he says it is way to early to trim his list. He likes the way the Big 10 produces OL. Sam holds a 3.4 GPA with a 1300 SAT.

Sam has a long list of offers but is being pursued the hardest by PSU and Florida. He has no favorites, no camp plans, nor any plans to visit anywhere unofficially. Sam is wide open and will take his time in making a decision.

Sam claims over 30 offers with the most recent written offers coming from Northwestern, Ohio State, and USC. He says he will not proclaim a list of favorites until the end of this month. Distance nor climate will not factor into his decision. Sam has a 3.4 GPA and scored 1830 on the new SAT.

I've heard from a couple different sources

that the teams that Sam Young likes the most are Miami, Michigan, Stanford, and Penn State.

Penn State and Stanford will have to turn it around to have a legitimate shot at Young (he wants to go to a good team).

In the end I think it will be a Miami-Michigan battle for him. Sam is really bright student and cares about academics. Don't think Florida State has a real shot at him. Their academics are just subpar in comparison to the other 4 schools that are high on Sam's list.

Sam Young?

Does anyone know what his feelings are towards OSU? I know that he stated that he would like to play in the Midwest and mentioned Michigan, but that was all I heard about that. I honestly think that if Young is interested in playing in the Big Ten, then OSU would be a great place to go. He would have a chance to start as a true freshman and would be in a system that favor's linemen. Any information would be great.
