Marquis was thought to be a lock to Alabama, but has decided to open up his recruitment. He still favors the Tide, but following the advice of his father and considering schools such as Iowa, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida, and Ohio State, Marquis has decided to put off his commitment until he can see some campuses. He is also turned off by Alabam's pressure to commit. A major factor in his decision will be the school's music program. Marquis has scheduled visits to Maryland when they play West Virginia(9/7) and Iowa when they play Michigan (10/22). Last season Marquis recorded 50 tackles and 11 pass breakups as teams avoided throwing on his side of the field. In an earlier article, Marquis said he looked into tOSU since they were his childhood favorite after defeating Miami. However, he decided the NCAA issues and cold weather were not for him. At the time though, he still listed tOSU as his second favorite school.

Personal Take: Marquis' Rivals video was not very long nor did it contain plays that give a sufficient glimpse into his talent. He did appear to be a decent tackler, but nothing spectacular. The Sunshine Preps video was an extended version of the same film. Marquis showed some skill as a WR, but again, nothing spectacular. The extended film also showed that Marquis is a tackler...not a hitter. He has good straightaway speed, but struggles out of cuts.
