“I’ve been trying to check out as many places as I can,” he said. “For the most part, I’ve just been going on some visits to see what the campuses are like, but I participated in Ohio State’s camp. I had a good time up there. They had some great players there for me to compare myself to, and I feel like I held my own with them. I was up there with some of the best guys at the camp.”

Smith (6-1, 180, 4.45) said he hadn’t been receiving any recruiting interest from the Buckeyes prior to the camp, “but they knew who I was when I got there. They must have been checking up on me, doing some research before I got there. Maybe they’ll give me a call the next time they can.”
