2003 All-Johnson County Team Offense (Jr. Year): First-Team selection at tight end; from The Johnson County Daily Journal: "One of the state's top overall football players, the 6-3, 240-pound two-way starter had only 13 catches but converted five into touchdowns. He totaled 211 receiving yards and was a punishing blocker."
2003 All-Johnson County Team Defense: First-Team selection at DL; from The Johnson County Daily Journal: "Led the county with 19 sacks and was Center Grove's second-leading tackler with 111. He also had two interceptions, including one for a touchdown."

8/23/03: Paxson started the year out on the right foot with three sacks in Class 5A Center Grove's season opener against defending Class 4A State Champion Roncalli High.
8/29/03: Paxson posted 11 tackles and three sacks in Center Grove's second straight shutout of the year. The junior also caught a 10-yard scoring pass to start out the game. (See "Second Shutout for CG" below under Links)
11/21/03: From The Johnson County Daily Journal: ".....junior defensive end J.B. Paxson anchor(s) one of the state's top defenses...Paxson has a county-high 19 sacks."
