Miscellaneous
2003 Arizona Class 4A Preview (from azcentral.com, 8/24/03; Jr.Year)
"The 4A Wells Fargo Region Favorite: Centennial. Coach Richard Taylor's boys are fast. The fastest player is wide receiver Bryan Haynes, winner of the 100 and 200 state titles last season. But the key guy is junior Terry Longbons, who added strength and speed in the off-season after rushing for more than 1,300 yards last year."

2003 Centennial Football Season (Jr. Year)
9/5/03: Longbons established himself early in Centennial's season opener, rushing for 204 yards.
9/25/03: Longbons' play was limited in the Coyotes' next two games due to leg cramps, but he returned Sept. 25 to post 174 yards on 14 carries.
10/10/03: Longbons finished out Centennial's non-region season with 255 yards and four touchdowns in just over one half of play. "I saw him last year and I had a lot of respect for him as a sophomore," said an opposing player in the game. "He's just gotten bigger and faster and stronger."
10/17/03: The Peoria Times reports in a pregame article: "Centennial has played so many blowouts this year that the team's starters only play half a game. That hasn't stopped RB Terry Longbons from racking up big numbers. Despite only playing half of most games because of lopsided scores or leg cramps, the junior has already surpassed the 1,000-yard barrier and is threatening to break his own single-season rushing record of 1,600 yards set last year."
11/7/03: Centennial took the Wells Fargo Regional with a 35-28 win in which Longbons posted 216 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The Peoria Times reported Longbons "ripped off a 74-yard run on the first play (of the game). Longbons was hit twice near the line of scrimmage but bounced off to the left and sprinted down the sideline for the score."
11/21/03: Longbons had broken his own single-season rushing record from 2002 by the time the Coyotes reached the first round of the Arizona state playoffs for the first time since the program's inception in 1992, nearly amassing 1,800 yards. On Nov. 21, Longbons turned in another 100+-yard performance, putting him close to 2,000 yards on the year.

According to the latest Rivals update (Ducks Sports Authority), Longbons currently favors the two in-state schools (Arizona and Arizona State) and wants to make official visits to Notre Dame, Oregon, Nebraska, and Northwestern. For what it's worth, it looks like OSU is a long-shot here.
