Shit...the NBA's ratings have been waning the past couple seasons. This is totally on point for the NBA, they did the same thing with the frozen envelope when they drafted Ewing, except the league got behind Jordan a season or so later.

Saying he's done nothing is a stretch. As you said, their farm system is probably the best in the NHL. Considering where it was when Ken Holland left, that definitely isn't nothing. Their biggest issue remains goaltending. All the talent on the farm and none of the goaltending has translated...

Why anyone would want an Ohio State guy to go to this fucking embarrassment of a franchise is mind-boggling. Fuckin clowns, as usual. I'm not even saying trading him was the wrong move - he makes a ton of money and is over 30 now. But they didn't get nearly enough back for him.

They got lucky to not lose 5 last year (including the bowl game) with a far easier schedule. I think even the Pedsters have a shot at them this year.

And the new staff isn't as beholden to his aura (if that's the right word)....it will be far easier for them to say "well, we tried, he sucks" and go to that other kid that seems to fit their scheme better.
