Phillips first playing time, other than special teams, was starting the 2nd half of the first game his freshman year at DE. The coaches moved him to LB the next week. He's played DT and LB all the way up to high school.

No, I really don't have much insight into what tOSU coaches are telling him. He plays for a D4 school which doesn't help; though, the video available is vs. D2 Jackson which made it to the Regional Semis last season...
