Yeah, hard to take much away. All of the B1G teams have ended up dominating their cupcakes in similar fashion other than a couple close-ish games. Yeah, Minny barely beat Western MI but Gophers are waiting on getting a couple key guys back from injury, particularly Jamison Battle.
I enjoy...
I think we are basically on the same page but just want to say there is a distinct difference between Holtmann's recruiting at OSU for the majority of his classes and the 2022 and 2023 classes. The overall talent level and composition of the 2022 and 2023 classes is a significant notch above...
We've actually been well above average from 3 for the past 3 seasons (though I have a feeling we might struggle with outside efficiency this coming season).
But no doubt, Mobley is a very special shooter. Not just the consistency with which he makes outside shots or the quickness of his...
Taison would be a fantastic addition. Smooth, skilled, can shoot and pass. Could easily play the 1 or 2 here. Would be a perfect complement to both Thornton and Gayle in the backcourt.
I think Ohio State would take Bronny if he wants in.
I don't know that Ohio State is going to spend a lot of time and effort trying to get Bronny to come here.
Chatman is the priority right now and I think OSU is willing to leave a door open for Bronny should he eventually decide he wants to...
I would love to see that but I'm not sure it's feasible, not when football is so clearly #1 for the university and its fans and alumni. Peak Thad was nearly as good as it gets for OSU basketball and even that doesn't really match what Tressell, Urban, and now Day have been doing.
I guess the...
If no one leaves and Holden uses his extra year, we would not have the space.
I do think Holden will use his extra year but someone is bound to leave, so I wouldn't think it untoward if we added a fifth to the class if it was a guy we really wanted.
That said, the 2024 and 2025 classes in Ohio...
Where's my prayer hands emoji, haha?
If we do manage to add Middleton this Saturday, man, what a class on the heels of the 2022 class.
That to me has been the biggest thing lacking during the Holtmann era. I think the coaching, culture, and player development have all been pretty good overall...
Huge get, Royal is such a productive player. Was the third most efficient player in EYBL this summer while doing a LOT for All-Ohio Red.
Surprisingly to me, he is the highest ranked player from Central Ohio since Nick Ward. Glad we didn't let him go to Sparty, too!
It's really hard to know what to expect. This team is mostly new parts and the parts that aren't new either didn't play last season (Sueing and Towns) or haven't yet emerged as surefire starting material (Brown). Zed is probably the one safe bet to start.
The freshmen class is really good but...
Wow, the basketball forums really died here, huh.
Anyways, two top targets for OSU are announcing this week, Devin Royal tomorrow and Scotty Middleton on Saturday. Hopeful for at least some good news. Not out of the question that we might get both.
Pretty awesome addition given that we needed experienced help in the frontcourt and backcourt and this guy gives us both. Played a lot of PG at other OSU but also a long, strong bruiser who rebounds the ball well. Really good defender that can guard the 1-4.
I like Likekele.
Yeah, and getting Landers Nolley out of the transfer portal recently was impressive, I am not sure if they had some connection working there for them or just a good sales pitch.
Miller sold him on being a hometown hero (his commitment graphic even used the term). That probably entails some nice NIL from Cincy sponsors, yes, but I also think there is some appeal with Cincy's roster in that he will get to play a ton right away and immediately start showcasing himself for...
