The overall record is going to look fine because it's buoyed by the first few years of his tenure. The fact is that they've inflated their record against a historically terrible division (which bears out in the CCG) and have lost to basically anyone with a pulse over the last 3 years, often...
It was time. Chryst had some highlights here to be sure (6-1 bowl record, beating Miami in the Orange Bowl, Turnover Chain My Fucking Ass, etc. etc.) but the program has been steadily backsliding for three years. The trademarks of the program over the last 30 years – strong offensive line and...
I think Lance Leipold would've been a better hire (maybe they went after him), but honestly they could do a lot worse than Bret. I can't imagine it's easy to lure recruits to central Illinois. We'll see how he does there.
Now that both teams are effectively out of the West race, I'd rather Wisconsin plays Minnesota during the crossover week, just to keep the Axe game streak (113 years) intact.
Show up high and mighty to bless the B1G plebs with your appearance
Get mercilessly blasted by said B1G almost every year
"Didn't even want to be here! I am going home to the big 12 where I am WANTED!"
I get this line of thinking. I'm guessing they chose to categorize these situations as "cancelled" instead of "forfeited" so as not to incentivize lying about results. If they have proof of multiple players blatantly breaking protocol i.e. the Titans, I have no problem punishing those teams.
My understanding is that teams could play as few as 6 games and still qualify for the CG, provided there are no other cancellations. So they have 1 game "left" in that regard. Either way, it's fucked up.
I think the Big Ten's logic was 14 days for quarantine and 7 days for proper conditioning before returning to the field.
Anyway, this is what we get for trying to be a passing team.
On-campus would be cool, but I'll bet they try to set up the games in Indy, Detroit, and Minneapolis. 7 games spread across three locations in one day would be kickass.
And Larry Nassar, and...
ETA: I'd be interested to see some opinion polls on the return of college football among the general public, especially in Big Ten states. I suspect journalists like Brennan can't see beyond their own bubble here regarding just how much people simply want to see their...
Ugh, oh boy. It's weird to see Hookstead on here. When he was a student at Wisconsin, he claimed he originally broke the Russell Wilson to UW news before anyone else. He has since morphed into some weird Clay Travis/Tucker Carlson clone with delusions of grandeur on Twitter. He probably has...
Wisconsin recently had a big outbreak in the dorms (2 of the dorms are currently in lockdown) and are in the middle of a 2-week fully online trial. I believe Barry would love to play, but the current state on campus will come into play with their vote.
Yes, they do. The most well-known Badger reporter in Wisconsin is probably Jeff Potrykus from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He's been on the beat for a while now. Otherwise IMO the two best non-newspaper reporters are Zach Heilprin (Madison radio guy, but not outlandish) and Jesse Temple (The...
I tend to think PSU and Wisconsin are relatively locked into the Rose and Orange.
Homer talk here, but I don't see an argument for Penn State over Wisconsin to Pasadena. They shouldn't be rewarded for sitting at home. The committee has been pretty adamant in the past that teams aren't to be...
