Day did the same thing at the end of the first half that he did against Georgia last year, slooooowing down the offense when they have momentum to settle for a long field goal. the man has zero killer instinct, that’s why he can’t win big games
If I’m Gene Smith I’m making CCH an aggressive contract extension offer this offseason. Absolute worst case scenario is finding yourself having difficulty extending this basketball savant after the big turnaround next season.
I think what makes me get so mad at the coaches is… I just love these players, man. These are 18 and 19 year olds at the absolute top of their field. They are more professional at that age at what they do than I will be in my career field in my whole life. They are the best collection of players...
Oh yeah, that's right. Oh well, freshman, first-year starter... all these things blur together in my cobweb-covered brain.
Well I'm certainly glad of that fact too, but I would say that I feel like the opinions around here about Luke flip-flop a lot faster than I think is fair, and I...

This game wouldn't really change Luke's position if I were in charge. Let's not forget that losses @ Purdue with a Freshman QB were the norm under the Vest.

The football gods seem determined to make us suffer this season, one way or another. Damnit. Hoping for the best for Braxton. Now come on defense, carry us!
I don't blame Fickell for the loss tonight; the talent just isn't there. Ultimately he gave both QBs a pretty good chance, and neither of them particularly impressed. Maybe it's just that I, unlike most people it seems, don't think it's obvious that we need to drop Bauserman for Miller...

I really didn't think he was very bad today. He certainly struggled with his accuracy on deep passes, but other than that I thought he was alright. At the very least he didn't turn the ball over. Certainly not a performance deserving of getting booed, that was some shameful stuff from the "fans"...
It was only Akron, but I was really impressed by Joe today. He looked very calm in the pocket, had some Krenzel-esque scrambles, and probably only had one badly thrown pass. I'm looking forward to seeing whether he can keep it up against better defenses, because if so I suddenly feel very...
Well, I guess you're right that he doesn't cut it, if you judge him by meaningless start-of-the-cycle tournaments and FIFA rankings. Personally, what's important to me is dominance in qualifying good performances in the World Cup, and carefully shepherding the next generation of players in. By...
I wouldn't have fired Bradley. I think that all throughout his career as coach we've put in good performances when it's mattered, and been unimpressive otherwise. People were calling for his head after the first few qualifiers, but we finished strong and ended up qualifying comfortably. People...
The USSF is a fucking embarrassment for this. First of all, it's completely unprofessional to commit to a guy for four years, then blindside him by firing him after less than one year, before he's coached a single meaningful game (and no, CONCALAFF's mickey mouse tournament doesn't count.) Then...
Very disappointing. I know that we're a big-time college football program so as a pragmatic guy I assumed that there was some rule-breaking going on behind the scenes and that Tressel was at least turning a blind eye to it all, but still, sad to have it confirmed.
Hopefully we've now learned...
