Since I graduated I've moved a couple times, and found myself in the Quad Cities (Bettendorf, Davenport, Moline, Rock Island) and desperately in need of a Buckeye bar or alumni meet up to watch games. Literally every house or car that I can see from my front door has a Hawkeye flag, bumper...
I'm a little surprised that Iowa didn't finish in the top 25, given their strong bowl appearance. I would certainly take them over a lot of the chaff that did make the cut (i.e. Missouri).
Am I the only person who thinks that both Wisconsin and TCU would have fucking mangled either of these teams? If there were ever a year for a split national championship, this is it. TCU would push Auburn's shit in.
The way that they're playing tonight, there are about 10 teams in CFB that would hammer either of these turds by 14 points or more. This is just a pathetic display of football.
I really hate that bubble screens are counted in passing stats. Darron Thomas is officially right around 66% completion rate on the night. In reality, he's thrown about 50% complete turds when asked to pass beyond the line of scrimmage.
What in the fuck kind of defense is Oregon playing? They're not bringing pressure, they're not covering in any kind of sensible zone, and they're not in man. They appear to just wander around the field until an Auburn player runs into them.
He's a great talent, but his repeated filthy plays and attempts to injure other players completely overshadow that. I wouldn't want him on any team for which I root.
I have a feeling that Darron Thomas couldn't hit the ocean when pissing from a pier. I also have a feeling that Nick Fairley beats up orphans for no reason.
Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but this is not terribly entertaining. Half of the time, the players on both teams don't appear to know the play or how to line up. Most of the big plays are coming on broken coverage or poor tackling. When did football become a game of "he who fucks up last loses"?
Oregon is just terrible on defense. Blown coverages all over, can't stop the run, can't rush the passer...I guess when you play gimmicky football and get bailed out by your offense, you can afford to do that.
Couldn't even run PA there? FFS, your offense is built to get the ball to the edge; instead, you run the jet sweep into the boundary on the 1 yard line. Fucking brilliant...
