2027 FL QB Wonderful Monds IV (Notre Dame Verbal)

Still a little hinkey about his visits to UCLA. Hometown school and all that. Plus all the hype about St. Clair, being the 'next big thing' might start to rankle him a tad. It's proven, that being the back-up at tOSU will pay dividends to a player (to be continued when Lincoln K lights it up...

    Lane Kiffin (HC LSU)

Will concede that Kiffin was part of Saban's coach-reclamation-project, and he was the face of the offense at Bama. Rebuilt his worth as a coach, and at Ole Miss, did better than expected. I'm a doubter, to be certain, so we'll see if he has the 'legs' to maintain at LSU. More wealth, better...

    High School Baseball

Your approach is far more PC than mine. Don't actually remember if varsity teams are limited in numbers, but once more, would be better playing at a lower level than sitting on the pine on varsity. An upfront meet with both coaches might benefit all parties. Could be the varsity is 'stacked'...

CG John “Juni” Mobley, Jr. (Official Thread)

Nothing wrong with finding out the 'missing piece' in obtaining a NBA draft number. Gives one something to work towards. Unlike football, don't see many NBA ex-players returning to coaching (relatively speaking). So, who gives these kids the secret sauce to get drafted? No, don't believe...

2027 OH OL Davis Seaman is a Buckeye!!!

Well, believe that's Watterson 3 - Whetstone 0 in the Buckeye scholarship lists......

QB1 Will Howard (National Champion, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Believe so. These NFL guys don't miss too much, and the late rounds can sometimes be stretches (firmly believe that the 'hidden gems' are all scooped up by that time), so why not take a cheap guy that has local roots. Backup material, but did play at a highly ranked school, and did all right...

TE Joe Royer (transfer to Cincinnati, Cleveland Browns)

Yeah, seems like he was a good egg, but got lost in the depth sheet. One of those Buckeyes that had talent, but got recruited over. Made a good decision to go somewhere to get some PT, and looks like it paid off. Wonder if he's being 'claimed' as a Buckeye (3 TEs in draft!), a la Joe Burrow...

Columbus Symphony Orchestra wants to build $275 million performance space

Went on golf cruise to Australia/New Zealand for seven rounds of golf. OK, some courses good, one was dog meat, and others were marvelous. Anyway, wifey and daughter wanted me to buy a polo logoed. Sure. Well, on the next to last (one of the better courses), went to the racks to look for...

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

I know, I know. Am selfish enough that want all the best Ohioans to come to Columbus. Not realistic, but still wish for it. Guess we'll see how Diebs blends together these players into a cogent team. Anyone hear how the Baylor transferee is doing healthwise? With zero big guys attracted...

    tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Huge. And seemed as if when the mic was handed to these kids, they were eloquent and smoother than expected. Also something taught/experienced at tOSU that doesn't make the news. Had a golf club member come up to me on Friday, and ask, 'with all that talent, how come you didn't win the Nati?"...

    High School Baseball

Don't know how is in Ohio etc, but in California, teacher's contract includes stipends for 'extra duty', also known as coaching. The irony is that if a teacher wants the position/stipend, they are given preference over any 'walk-on' coach (non-teacher). Sometimes, they are discouraged from...

    2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Gonna state that Njegovan is going to wear down if he's going to be the 5. tOSU lost a lot when he came in, versus who was in there. Bynum can/will be an able 4, but Njeg's offense is quite limited. See the D potential, but just don't see the 'alley oop' potential there. Apparently Diebs is...

DT Kayden McDonald (All B1G, B1G DL of Year, Unanimous All American, National Champion, Houston Texans)

First round was a bit of a head scratcher. But, then again, always is. Teams keep their draft picks closer to their vest than nuclear launch codes. A leak to a newsie probably a termination offense. Anyways, the second biggest story line (first being first rounders that don't pan out), are...

    High School Baseball

Echo the good luck, and popcorn in the bleachers. Would recommend he beef up a bit and play catcher. More opportunities there. Sounds like he's got a good stick, and the arm to gun down runners. Enjoy these times brutus, they go by oh so quickly. Another Johnny Bench?

The Ohio State Baseball (Official Thread)

Is the general consensus that tOSU has 'turned a corner'? Or still too many holes in the line-up? When our kids have a good year, the pros feel that hey if he can do with a mediocre team, bet he can do better when he's got some talent around him.......kinda a joke...but the pros seem to scout...

2026 Spring Practices, Spring Game, and other Tidbits

Live practice like that was good/great way to see some of the newbies in live situation. Sure, the D was limited in what they could do, no blitzs, stunts, crosses, etc. Agree with most that the OL not up to par, but season doesn't start for a bit. No QB issues, the maturation process will...

HS Swim Team - any experience?

Did the same with daughter coming out of HS. Visited various colleges, and you might want to get him qualified for JO's. Colleges recruit kids with Junior Olympic times, and believe me, they're a big deal. A kid from a small HS, versus a 2,000+ HS, can compete equally in the pool. Anyway...
