I'm exceedingly happy with this. I said the day Slapshot flew away that internally hiring a pure academic was the best we could hope for. I had some dark thoughts about how a protracted external search might play out with our current board, Wexner and possibly the legislature getting involved...

The trustees are dominated by Wexner cronies. The Chair is literally his personal lawyer, and Slapshot was brought in to be a puppet for Wexner...to block any investigation into his knowledge of the Strauss debacle, to keep his name slapped on everything and to allow his "wife's" continued...

Starting to look like Slapshot was using university money to prop up his girlfriend's podcast. Fucking bum.

I'm sure the board is going to just hire another Wexner puppet. I can't see top candidates being interested with Wexner still pulling the strings. That last check had better be a motherfucking dandy; although he donates in ways that move the city forward as much as the university. Oh well...
