Just not a fan of how bad losses carry more weight with the committee than big wins--it rewards all the wrong kinds of behavior. The question I'm wondering is whether Georgia got the pat on the back from the committee given that #5 vs. #6 is meaningless, or whether they really would've given...

Right now, on the front page of espn.com is this headline: "Georgia breaks into top 4; OSU jumps big" Let's take a closer look at that "big" jump by OSU. The Buckeyes jumped 4 spots. Who were those 4 teams, and what did they do last weekend? - Michigan: Lost to our Buckeyes - Washington...

I don't disagree with any of that. The counterargument, however, is that the Oklahoma isn't without significant tarnish itself: - best wins against #16 WVU and #24 Iowa St. (which compare poorly to OSU's best wins against #7 scUM and #12 PSU) - close/ugly wins against 5-7 Texas Tech, 3-9...

Prior to tonight, I thought OSU just needed to win against Northwestern, unless they barely won and Oklahoma blew Texas' doors off this weekend. I now think that's flipped--for OSU to get in, they have to beat Northwestern by 24+ and Oklahoma has to closely win (or, obviously, lose) against Texas.

Minor edit, but 2016 PSU was a 2-loss team when the final rankings were announced--they had lost to Pitt and scUM.

BTW--even after drubbing the #4 team in the nation, OSU is still the lowest ranked 1-loss team.

Typical scUM fans. I only had to hear about 1,000 times last week that in 2016 they "lost by a literal inch" and how in 2017 they "would have won if they had a QB." There's an excuse (or many of them) every year...
