Their plan is to fire their coach mid-season, get turned down by every decent (and not so decent) coach, and land their interim in-house second rate CB coach. Of course, they’ll wait until their recruiting class is decimated.
BYU’s problem is obvious. Best win was Utah and they got whipped by TTech. Just not enough quality teams in the Big12. So, assuming they lose to Tech again, they have to be a fringe team.
A lot of talk about how young their team is this year - most of that youth is on offense.
They lose almost all of their front 7 on D. They may take a step back on that side of the ball.
We have an apathetic OC.
We have a HC celebrating with humility.
We have a defense reading their press clippings.
Looking 2014 B1G championship game in reverse.
Because of a horrible rushing attack and defense.
Look at the WR for the 2021, 2022, 2023 champions.
You can win a Natty with the 2018 WR group. Just will be easier with a group like the last 5 years.
2018 would be an example of an elite Day passing attack with a good, but not great WR group.
Hopefully, we land somewhere between that group and what we’ve had the past 5 years.
If we can land Henry and keep Jamier Brown, we’ll be set up for the next few years.
We won’t stack talent like...
Will probably go back to having the OC be the QB coach (my guess). Fessler could go back to being a non-recruiting coach if he wants to stay. I know they really like him.
PSU defining new ways to trash your program.
- Fire a coach early, but don't hire a coach before NSD
- Said fired coach gets re-hired and steals many of your recruits
They're going to be highly dependent on the transfer portal next year.
