Some of you guys seem to be under the very mistaken impression that there is top-tier NIL money behind OSU basketball. In comparison to the landscape of college hoops, there is no chance OSU is spending money in the same ballpark as the blue bloods. Cooper Flagg made $28 million in NIL at Duke...

For sure. I should also add another one of the reasons Matta had more success in holding late leads is he coached his teams to avoid fouling. It didn't always go according to plan, the tendency is life on the road involves lots of fouls being called against you, but strategically trying not...

I'd like to know how much NIL is being spread around this team. Some of these guys aren't really worth giving any NIL funds of significance to. I know this past offseason OSU was unable to get some higher profile transfers that could have really helped this team and I blame NIL - Kennard Davis...

The two issues I take with Diebler in this game are 1) not playing Colin White and Gabe Cupps more in the first half when Pitt was out-hustling the Buckeyes. They got at least 10 offensive rebounds the first half. 2) in the last-second play, you have to guard the in-bounder and force the guy...

It's definitely a bad loss, it exposed the athletic deficiencies that OSU has in the frontcourt. Just not great in that regard. Obviously OSU isn't a top-25 team or anything, no one here said they were, so every road game against a power conference team is a lose-able game no matter who the...

I would say OSU has a shortage in terms of live bodies out there, big, strong, athletic guys who can mix it up and handle the physicality of a team like Pitt. Let's not downplay Pitt's player, he had a good game, obviously they have a type - strong, athletic, active players - and OSU didn't...

There was a saying Diebler had going into the Pitt game, in reference to last season's loss where Pitt had 16 offensive rebounds & outscored OSU in the paint. Diebler said you're either the hammer or the nail. After giving up 16 offensive rebounds again and being outscored 38-30 in the paint...

I do know Thad Matta believed in guarding the in-bounds pass in late-game situations, and it was very rare that OSU lost with a late lead under Matta. As soon as Holtmann came in, the late-game philosophy backfired and OSU has constantly lost games in spite of late leads. The officiating...

Overall the rebound battle was 39-38, that's not really getting murdered on the glass. The problem was Pitt getting too many offensive rebounds & second chances. A lot of them were more hustle rebounds and getting beat to loose balls, which is why I thought Colin White should have been playing...

One thing for sure that could have helped OSU is there were a couple plays when the Buckeyes got a hand on the rebound, but they couldn't control it and let it get to Pitt (either out of bounds or live). Teach guys to tap the ball out to teammates if you're losing it.

Mobley hurt his ankle the first half, possibly a sprain.

I think that was kind of a problem for more than him. Bruce was running after loose balls hard, but I don't know that many guys on the team were really getting after it. 16 offensive rebounds for Pitt is embarrassing considering they were more hustle rebounds and beating OSU to the ball than...

Part of the problem is OSU struggled giving up second chances. Just seemed like there wasn't a presence in the paint for OSU in terms of defensive rebounding. It's wild when 6-2 Bruce Thornton leads the team in rebounds by far.

Embarrassing loss. Made possible by a poor first half and ticky tack fouls keeping Pitt in it at the end. Credit for Pitt making the big shot at the end, but this type of loss is very discouraging.

Offensive rebounding has been Pitt's secret weapon. Lots of second chance points.

Corhen has been punking every frontcourt player OSU has. Need a more athletic big man badly ... hopefully Ojianwuna plays this season.

Gonna be difficult to win this one with Pitt in the double bonus for the last quarter of the game. Gotta play tough and smart.

Maybe the worst sub was taking out Colin White after he hustled to block a shot. What message does that send? White needs more, not less minutes.

Bad first half down 10. Too many guys that are playing soft and weak physically and mentally.

Just don't have many guys who want to challenge defenders 1-on-1 and play through contact.
