Solid, yes. Pulled everyone together under incredible adversity and blew through the playoffs, no question. Is Bowen still a massive upgrade on-field and in recruiting? So far, yes.
This is the guy everyone expected when he was recruited. We on the outside don't understand how much work goes into meeting that level of performance at this level. The "Developed Here" mantra is the truth. Our current coaches are killing it, but it takes full buy-in from the players. Tough...
Pretty sure Kelly and Day had an understanding on the front end that it was going to be one or possibly two and done. Better shot with Patricia, I think. He seems to really like working with his guys.
I think to be a great teacher, and that's how I've heard him describe himself, you've got to be able raise kids' level without talking down to them. That's actually pretty difficult and he seems to have walked right into it as opposed to being an ego-driven "genius" (obligatory Knowles reference).
Absolutely agree with both you and Jax. It's definitely not one to be taken lightly and while Day's downplayed the Oregon game as the reason for going out on Thursday I think it's a good sign that at least someone learned that lesson. His statement that they need to treat it like a playoff...
There have been plenty of squads I've been worried about in big road games. This one isn't one of them. I love the vibe with these guys. There relatively young, at least in terms of starter minutes for a lot of them, and they don't seem complacent because of the '24 NC. I see them embracing...
Also, and I want to emphasize that I'm in no way negative about Bo, the freshman wall is real more often than not. It's not unusual to see guys start the year fast and then fall off as conference games stack. All the more reason to continue to rotate. I don't think we need an RB1 getting 25...
My post wasn't specifically directed toward or in response to yours and yours was admittedly tempered relative to others' MoC comparisons I've seen since last weekend. However, in reply I don't think we can extrapolate MoC yardage and TD numbers just by adding carries against a better level of...
I may have to search the BP archives, but I remember cracking myself up writing about Lydell trying to rush in to put out a fire, running into the door frame, knocking himself out and the building burning down.
