Win a pair of Men's Basketball tickets

The official OSU athletic site is giving away a pair of tickets to every home basketball game. I think the odds of winning are pretty good since I was just called and told I had won a pair. http://ohiostatebuckeyes.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/osu-m-baskbl-nationwide-entry.html

    A few basketball related links

Here's some links to some basketball related sites. I can't take credit for finding most of these as they were posted on BN, but if anyone hasn't seen these... Jerry Palm's simulation of the RPI index used by the NCAA selection committee. http://www.collegerpi.com/ Mike Greenfield's Power...

    G Jamar Butler (Official Thread)

I believe Coach Matta has stated that who starts a game isn't as important as who is on the floor at the end of the game. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if Butler starts soon assuming he can handle pressure from B10 guards. I think Butler can provide a better overall game than BFC...

Subtle shift of focus to basketball, anyone?

I'm a season ticket holder, and am more than happy to discuss basketball, but I'm sure you realize that there are probably 10x as many people interested in football recruiting than OSU basketball. That's not a dig at the basketball team, it's just an acknowledgement that the majority of Buckeye...

    Tickets for next year

According to the info that came with the 2004 tickets, OSU will be checking IDs for faculty and staff in 05'. They will have the same option for "upgrading" tickets as students do, but the difference is only $11 with faculty/staff. I don't know what effect this will have on the ticket supply...

    Browns Draft

I think the order is SF, Mia, Cle, SD. Maybe SD will be dumb enough to give up a 2nd round pick to move up one spot in the draft.

Best online place to buy RAM?

Check http://www.salescircular.com/ for what's on sale in your area. Unless I'm really saving a lot, I prefer the convenience of going back to the store for returns if there are problems.

Learfield Directors' Cup (Formerly Sears Directors' Cup)

Unfortunately the wrestling team doesn't seem to be performing well, and the Men's B-Ball team can't get us any points due to the postseason ban. You have to wonder about this award sometimes. Pistol, Diving, and Synchronized Swimming are not included, while Rifle, Skiing, and Women's Bowling...

Learfield Directors' Cup (Formerly Sears Directors' Cup)

Apparently the Directors Cup is not associated with Sears anymore. Bucks are currently 8th which is pretty good. In previous years, most of OSUs points came in the late winter and spring sports. http://nacda.collegesports.com/sports/directorscup/spec-rel/123004aab.html Another New Leader...

    Iowa-LSU

Iowa got really lucky. When Iowa completed the pass with 20 seconds left and 2 time outs, I'm pretty sure Texas assumed Iowa would be trying to setup a FG and were trying to stop them from getting in FG positon. That FG position D killed them. As others have mentioned, Iowa had poor clock...

    Billings To Transfer

He did not redshirt, he was academically ineligible as a freshman. He will only have one year of eligibility left, but can apply to regain the "lost" year if he has made enough academic progress. I'm fairly certain this would require him to graduate before getting that year back.

    Cook, Conley, and Oden

Hopefully a big crowd will show up for the Minn game. Our performance the 4 games before they visit may influence the crowd size somewhat. Those games are @ILL, Iowa, @Wisc, @LSU. If we can win at least two of those games I think the turnout should be good

Big East counting Louisville's BCS ranking

I'm pretty sure the other BCS conferences are scared to strip the Big East of their automatic bid. Without the BE, the 5 remaining conferences would have 57 teams and would probably lose out in any NCAA vote by the 117 D-I teams. It's not hard to imagine that the other D-I teams would vote to do...

    tOSU v. Texas Tech

Actually I believe Ted Hillary sucks for many conferences, not just the Big12. Many of the high profile referees everyone is familiar with like Hillary, Hightower, Higgins, Welmer, etc. work high profile games, especially the non-conference ones. These are the same idiots that for some reason...

    New Offense

This sounds like Paul Westheads offense that he ran with Loyola Marymount, George Mason, and the Nuggets. If I remember correctly, the Bucks set their single game scoring record vs. George Mason back when they were using this type of system in the mid 90's.

    Portland State Preview

The fact that they are big and outrebounding their opponents concerns me. I hope they are exaggerating their measurements. JJ or somebody needs to step up and contain Boxley on the boards and we just need to hit the boards harder in general. Happens to be a weak point for our offense too.

    Sagarin Rankings

Sagrin is a nice tool for predicting who will win a game, but I prefer www.collegerpi.com. It is very close to the actual RPI used by the NCAA selection committee. Note, the RPI is not posted this early in the season. I don't think 10 games into the season is enough either. You may or may not...

OSU trustees give Holbrook pay raise

I'm sure everyone will be thrilled to read this. I'm guessing this is to thank her for constantly raising tuition and the angry librarian attitude she brings to the school. http://www.dispatch.com/news-story.php?story=dispatch/2004/11/06/20041106-B3-00.html OSU trustees give Holbrook pay...
