Rondo wasn't a rook last year.
The Celtics went to seven games against a pretty horrible Atlanta team and against a Cavs team that is leagues worse than this years version.
Just correcting some facts you seem to be ignoring.
LT- Adams
LG- Boren
C- Brewster
RG- Browning
RT- Shugarts
If Cordle comes in, put him at C and rotate Brewster into the guard spots.
This all hinges on Adams' development.
Maybe I'm alone, but I liked Alex Mack more than any other pick. I love Beanie, but I don't want him on the Browns. I just don't think that would work.
Mack isn't a reach and at the very least should be a long term starter for us.
Picking a RB in the first round, unless it's a homerun...
Would have been nice to get more than a second and some potential starters for a top five pick.
At least another pick or something.
With that said, can't say I'm too disappointed so far depending on what they do with the picks now.
Doesn't seem like all that much of a difference to me...
I keep seeing M fans talk about how polished Tate is. I think they're going to be surprised when they see how raw he is. He's still a freshman that has no experience. He's not going to be able to make all the throws nor will be be...
I'd like to see an offer go out assuming he's qualified.
This is a player that can give us time at the four spot during his first few years, then as he develops his perimeter game can move to more of a three position.
You also can't teach his athleticism and speed.
The 2 and 3 are basically the same position in Matta's system anyways.
I think it's just a numbers game really.
I think this ends up working out well for both parties and I can't imagine there's any bad blood over this decision.
Do you think that means we like our chances with Henderson, Hurst, Green, and/or some of the other OOS OL, or that this says something about the staff's opinion of James as a player?
Most PGs aren't an athletic freak like Wall is.
He's kind of like Derek Rose. If Rose had been able to go to the NBA right out of HS, I think he would have made as big an impact that he had with his one year in college.
Not really. He's NBA ready now. He'd be a top ten, if not top five pick. Only thing that would hurt him is that a lot of teams probably haven't scouted him a lot yet. He'd easily be the second PG taken in the draft.
Jackson has less potential than Hickson long term, but short term he doesn't make as many mistakes as Hickson does. I rarely notice Jackson out of position on defense, and he's pretty good at moving on offense to find some easy shots.
Another thing to think of is whether or not the current economy will affect drafting strategies.
I wonder if teams will be willing to take gambles on foreign players or players like Mullens who are almost all potential right now with little immediate impact. I can't imagine too many owners are...
It's not like he'll be on the road 24/7. He might go to Chicago for workouts(which is where a lot of players go) on a weekend and get feedback.
This isn't like training for the NFL combine. He won't have to drop out of school or ignore his classes to do this. It will take less of his time than...
Buford is so important to keep IMO.
He's just someone that understands the game of basketball and oozes talent. A year in the weight room and he'll be such a better all around player since I think he'll be able to drive and post up smaller players a lot more.
