That was some of the most disgraceful refereeing I have ever seen.
There should no longer be any mystery behind why no MLS team has ever won in Mexico, that's for sure.
The Crew picked up the option on Warzycha's contract, meaning he'll be coach again next year. This is really a good thing. He inherited a team that had won the Eastern Conference, Supporters Shield, and MLS Cup. In his first year in charge we won the Eastern Conference and Supporters Shield...
I have no idea, I don't even see a post by you in that thread. Not sure what happened there... I don't even usually give negative rep since it feels a bit petty.
I'll give you positive rep on some random post to make up for it though.
Tying goal was total bull. Not only was there the handball, but the free kick was taken illegally, as the US Soccer Federation admits in the Referee Week In Review. MLS are conspiring against the small markets extra early this year, I suppose. At least last season they waited until the playoffs...
Manchester United drew at Blackburn today, that may be the final nail in their title chances. They no longer even control their own destiny when it comes to finishing in second.
It's not impossible, especially since Barca will be without Pique and Puyol and have a tougher weekend fixture than Arsenal, but you have to think that Arsenal's chances of going through are unbelievably slim. *sigh*
So, a few days ago the Crew suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat @ Toluca, knocking them from the Champions League.
The good news is, MLS and the players' union agreed to a new 5-year CBA deal, so no strike. We are now less than a week from the season opener.
Turner and Lighty have been very sloppy and uncomfortable in the lane so far. Not a big deal now, but definitely something to worry about if it continues...
Diebler continues to be lights-out shooting and Dallas looks great, on the other hand.
I think the best summary of my thoughts on Chelsea's loss would be the following:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Hahaha. Woo.
Good thing you sacked Mourinho for not playing Shevchenko, huh Abramovich?
Owen's "return" for South Africa was never much more than a pipedream propagated by the English media. He never seemed to be in Capello's plans, and now that he's hurt his hamstring again and is out for the season... we're more likely to face off against Sol Campbell than Michael Owen in June.
I'm sure he'll keep playing at the club level for a few years, MLS and Serie A are like retirement homes for expired players. But yeah, his international career is likely over. Shame, he always made the World Cup more fun.
