Can we post here that we're accepting trade offers without discussing any possible trades? It may make it easier to know who's willing to make a trade versus sending out 10 PM's and waiting to find out who is even shopping the pick.
I wish I had the V50 to pay in the pool now....a UCLA title wins me both BMAX and Peach's Yahoo bracket. I knew I shouldn't have went all in on the Bengals over the Steelers.
What I hate about the whole trade is that they dump Casey for a 5th starter (if you can call him that) so that Dunn can play first. Now it looks like Dunn is going back to the outfield and we're stuck with a guy at first who can't hold Casey's jock.
I know Krivsky didn't make the Casey trade...
I have no polls to back me up but my guess is the only other fans that care are USC fans. Some, not all, still try to claim the title because of the paper polls and their belief that they would have destroyed us at the end of the year.
I doubt the rest of the country even cares.
Here's a great article about Bonds and steriods:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2368395&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1
It basically says Bonds told Griffey he was jealous of McGwire and Sosa and that he was going to start juicing.
I think the Saints take Ferguson and Leinart falls to the Titans at #3. The Jets already resigned Pennington and they're making a run at Ramsey. If they land Ramsey too I think Young falls down to the Raiders at #7.
I agree with the majority of this line of thinking. I would still put him in the Hall just based off his non roids numbers but at this point I think it comes down to personal preference. I'm glad we could come to an ammicable conclusion :D
I agree 100%...it's sad that he felt the need to cheat and tarnish his numbers even though he was twice the player of both McGwire and Sosa even when they were juicing.
I'm not basing it off maybe's and probablys. Here's some of his accomplishments pre-steroids:
3 MVP's, 8 Gold Gloves, 7 All Star games, 7 silver sluggers, 445 steals and 411 homers.
Lets say he has a career ending injury in 1998...those numbers probably get him in the Hall.
I'm basing my opinions on the SI article that says he started steroids in 1998 because he was jealous of the attention that McGwire and Sosa were receiving. If he used steriods before 1998 then my whole opinion changes obviously.
I don't condone his steroid use and I don't want steriods in...
No I'm not saying it's ok that he followed in their footsteps. Steriods is steroids no matter how you look at it they all tarnished the game, historical stats, and the fans view on America's pasttime.
I don't think you can just discard his non-steriods numbers because he cheated later in his...
