    Browns Draft

It was very surprising at first, especially when you realize we just signed WR Kevin Johnson. I think it was just a matter of drafting the best available player, and I expect Mooch has confidence in Garcia when they finally give up on Harrington. I didn't really want the Lions to draft a QB...

    Facebook ?

Try searching for football players. Inspired by mgoblog, I created an account with my old umich address and found tons of players with profiles, including Edwards, Hart, Watson, Woodley, etc. Some even list their phone numbers. It's really weird.

What Will Be the Buckeyes' Record in 2005?

Many aren't going to like my concluding numbers, so let me preface this with the following statement: I think OSU is probably the best team in the Big 10 next season and is Top 5 in the nation. I also think home field is extremely important. Anyway, here's my take: <TABLE...

    CFN's Top 32 Pro Prospects for 2006

I understand why Hart and Breaston aren't on there, since neither is an ideal NFL size, but I am surprised that Gabe Watson didn't even make honorable mention.

    Area 51 Google Map pics?

Area 51 is rather boring to look at, but there's a cool artillery range to the SW. Google Sightseeing is a great site dedicated to finding cool stuff with Google Maps, like Niagara Falls. Be sure to go through their history; some of the best stuff was posted a few weeks ago.

    Tim Tebow (Blessed)

Between Sean Hakes and Tebow, it looks like our schools might be getting some extremely skilled players at QB. Always good to see the Big 10 poaching world class talent from under the SEC/ACC's nose. :D

    scUM idiocy

I'm just referring to many Buckeyes' tendency to respond with "Well, we've got Ginn! Neener neener!" to whenever we bring Breaston up. Ginn might have the best moves of any reciever in the country, but we think Breaston is #2, and are excited about that. You can't really look at their...

    scUM idiocy

I hate when children post crap like that just to inflame a board. Well, I don't know if anyone wants to continue this discussion with a nontroll U of M fan, but I'll give it a shot. Here's my take: QB: Michigan. Just my opinion. This could change, but with Smith's off field troubles...

    UM spring updates

We cancelled the spring game in 2003. Carr seems to be very willing to cancel it: I personally don't take it as big news, but YMMV. Bob Davie does a great job of discussing the importance of the spring game in this column. Davie's Football 101 columns are all very good, in my opinion.

    UM spring updates

Oh, I definitely agree that it was fair. You actually mentioned all of our D strengths (DL, Hall, possibly Burgess), when most here would gleefully focus on our weaknesses in LB and DB. Hell, you didn't even mention the loss of the masturbating bear himself, Larry Harrison. :D

    UM spring updates

I can live with that, and for the most part ignore it. But when a comment like "All tOSU recruiting experts are drooling for 5'8" Harrison" comes from a good, logical poster like BfS, OilerBuck, yourself, etc., I'm going to say something if I can. I keep my nose out of the Larry...

    UM spring updates

I'm just disputing that OSU is in "dire need" of corners, that's all. It does seem that's it's a weakness; I was trying to counter the idea that OSU is so bad at corner that they'd have pursued even someone as "bad" as Harrison. Fine, then bash him for his attitude. Whatever. I'm just sick...

    UM spring updates

You said, "all four starters at LB will not be there," which is incorrect. Woods only started 3 games, and only Reid started more games than McClintock. Dire need? Youboty, O'Neal, Lyons, the Underwoods (well, at least one), and Ginn if necessary? Wanna trade? :wink2: I'll never understand...

    UM spring updates

Here's some more free links from GBW: Part 1 Part 2 McClintock is returning, and started most of last year. Mundy is returning to start at free safety. And why do you assume new players will be worse than the people they replace? This is college football; it's basically an entirely new team...

Will scUM even compete for an NC in the next decade?

They're expected to be way down, and they weren't all that great last year. Though, I certainly don't think we've a 100% chance of beating them. I probably should've put them in the 75% bracket at the time. I think the odds are somewhere in between. Well, that is the one thing MSU and U of...

Will scUM even compete for an NC in the next decade?

No, it's a 1/15 chance of playing in the title game. See this post and this post for where that number came from. Basically, I figured we have ~1/20 chance of going undefeated next year and I threw in some sluff since one loss teams frequently make it to the BCS title game, too. I called it...

    "LLLLLLL"oyd Carr (officialllllll thread)

mgoblog gives a properly scathing treatment of the article. Pretty much sums up my opinion.

Will scUM even compete for an NC in the next decade?

I see what you mean; I guess the "lock-up" of Ohio is a semantic argument when you consider our differing perspectives. I care about how many recruits we get from Ohio; you guys care about how many recruits from Ohio you want that you lose to us. In that light, I can understand why you used...

Will scUM even compete for an NC in the next decade?

That's a good point, and one I tend to agree with, especially without a worthy instate rival. I mostly meant to counter Yertle's statement that seemed to be implying that Michigan wouldn't be seeing any further success in Ohio. It seems like we tend to just steal one blue chipper, like Mario...

Will scUM even compete for an NC in the next decade?

Why? Michigan has never been a great high school football state, due to climate, geography, and population. It's not like the state is declining; it's always been simply mediocre for football talent, and U of M has succeeded regardless of that. Recruits are too fickle and ohio is too good of...
