    2013-2014 College Basketball (official thread)

Typical Texas tech fan right there. Living in Dallas for 18 years I have learned they are some of the most obnoxious fans out there, so it does not surprise me that he said something like that. Still does not excuse any player for doing what he did.

I am ok with the score going into halftime, we can easily pull this one out.

I think that fall was planned and it worked!

    How's the weather?

Not to brag but it is like 70 degrees here in Oklahoma. The only bad part is that it is Oklahoma.

RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Los Angeles Chargers)

Same here i was really impressed by Elliot the times he was on the field and one cannot forget he will have another offseason to get better and pack on size. If Elliot or Smith becomes the starter we will have a really good back up.

    tOSU vs. Illinois, Thurs 1/23 @ 7p ET, ESPN/ESPN2

I am not saying that Matta does not teach fundamentals but that this team compared to his other teams seem severely lacking in that department. I see players (aside from craft most of the time) trying to be flashy.

    tOSU vs. Illinois, Thurs 1/23 @ 7p ET, ESPN/ESPN2

Every time I watch this team it looks like they lack fundamentals and the craft layup proves that to me.

tOSU vs. Iowa, Sun 1/12 @ 1:30p ET, CBS

I know it could be said about any team that turnovers will more than likely lead to a loss but I think this statement is magnified by the way this team is built. It is a team that relies on defense to win game and when we give the ball away too much it makes it much tougher to win.

How Does Ryan Shazier Compare to Other Great tOSU LB's?

As far as a pure instincts as a linebacker Shazier to me was not all that great but he did have a nose for tackling people. The great thing about the great LB's is that they are much more then pass rushers and run stoppers. I remember Hawk would be able to cover most tight ends that would come...

How Does Carlos Hyde Compare to Other Great tOSU TB's?

I put Hyde in the same category as Wells. Both missed considerable playing time due to injury or suspension which decreased the amount of total yards they could have had at the end of their career. I do put Well slightly above Hyde though because he played behind in my mind a weaker O-line and...

    2014 NFL Divisional Playoff Week

Luck is doing his best Manning impression by not being able to get pass the Patriots in the playoffs. I think he will get a Super Bowl win one day but not when he gives the opposing team so many chances.

    2014 NFL Divisional Playoff Week

Same here it was tough all year watching some of the worst defenses ever assembled. I can not help but think why did the cowboys fire Rob Ryan who has improved the Saints defense in every way.

    Baseball Hall of Fame (Cooperstown)

Lebatard was trying to make a point at how screwed up the voting is but I think he just screwed it up even more by pulling this stunt.

DT Luke Fickell (HC Wisconsin Badgers)

I think Bryant was the leader on the defense and it really hurt when he went down. But as far as leadership goes we should not have two defensive coordinators because it can cause confusion. Yes, we did it successfully for years but with such a young group maybe it would be better to have one...

    2014 tOSU Defense Discussion

I think if the young guys step up then the defense could be good. There were moments this year when you could see flashes of the defense being good and with another year to learn and train it will help. But honestly as long as we are going to play this weak zone coverage scheme it will not give...

Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

I know we keep coming back to the defense as the problem but for those questioning the offensive play calling here is something to think about. If your offense scores 35 points then in most situations you should be able to win the game. Yes, there were times when I could have called better plays...

Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

I liked the good old days when our biggest worry was that Tressel seemed to prefer field goals over touchdowns. Now we have a defense that gives us no chance to win against good competition.

It is unfortunate that this happened but he did awful in the game against the Broncos, missing a few key tackles.

    2013 tOSU Defense Discussion

I am sure this has been addressed on here but i have not been keeping up on this post. It seemed like when we use press coverage good things happen such as the interception at Northwestern. It would also stop the receivers from being able to hook in and get 8 yards all day. It would require much...

2013 Week 5 CFB Open Thread

I don't think so. He has a proven track record and is not losing on the level of Mack Brown the pas tfew years. Yes, like nay program they want to compete for National Championship every year but in my opinion why should OU risk a new coach
