Yep. Pan Am and TWA used to be considered the two premier, flagship airlines of the USA. Nowadays, not so much... :wink2:
On another note, it would appear that Pitt wins the prize for "We didn't support the US in WW I, we kept all our athletes at home to compete (with whom?) for football...
I've come to enjoy this site almost as much as my long-time favorite Husker site, so just made another donation.
Thanks for the continuing warm welcome here, and for all the great B1G football talk!
Go Huskers! Go Bucks!
Really makes me feel good to read that - thanks! And, as you saw, Nebraska and its fans are just as honored to be in the B1G as you are to have us there. First class, indeed - indeed!
For the rest of the season...
Go Huskers! :neb2:
Go Buckeyes!:osu3:
Sure hope you get Braxton back next week.
Its wonderful reading all the stories in this thread, and those in several other threads too - about how well you were all treated. My Buckeye wife echoes that, although since she was with a Husker husband it wasn't quite as surprising to you.
Nebraska is spoken of by (some) sportswriters as...
Ouchie! That is kinda bad karma, huh?
My wife and I were at the game too, and wow was that a tale of two different halves. At 27-6 I was feeling pretty despondent, and most certainly wouldn't have ever imagined a comeback of 28 unanswered points for the win.
You experienced - during the...
Glad you had such a good time in Lincoln (minus the game result, of course) and now I'm wondering if I might have met you. That Bacardi tailgate is put on by the Husker site I call home - HuskerMax - and co-sponsored by Bacardi. My wife and I met several Buckeyes fans there Saturday and had...
My wife and I were at the game. My God I've never seen such a huge difference between a 1st half and a 2nd half. This was the largest comeback in Husker history ever. And several of the long-time Nebraska sportswriters said it was the loudest that stadium has ever been during the 2nd half...
And I'm just guessing that at the other end of the spectrum, maybe the quietest game for Gators fans was the '96 Fiesta Bowl? :D 62-24, baybeeeeeeee! Gooooooooooo Huskers! :neb::neb2::neb:
Wow, talk about a tough one to decide who to root for! Auburn, who won the NC last year with the best team money could buy in college football, or the team coached by one of the all time leaders as a low-class, diarrhea-of-the-mouth personality.
Of course, based on my spousal unit, my viewpoint is probably a bit biased, but I'd love to see Nebraska against tOSU for the first B1G CCG!
:neb2: :osu3:
Who's going to be in Lincoln on October 8th? My wife and I are coming up from Dallas for that game.
One more time, for emphasis:
Academics should preclude their ability to compete for a national championship, because they're able to recruit from a large pool of players who are academically ineligible at BCS schools, therefore they really shouldn't be competing with those schools, for the...
This... How many of the players playing for Truck Driver U. would be academically ineligible in any of the BCS AQ conferences, EVEN the SEC??? They need to play by the same rules in addition to playing similar caliber of competition. Otherwise, this is trying to add oranges (blueberrys?) to...
Do you even qualify as a "tweener" when you just lost to North Texas of the Sun Belt conference (who hasn't won more than three games in the last 6 seasons and hasn't beaten a BCS team (Baylor) since 2003?
