Canine / mammal version of the cockroach. Adaptable and once they figure out the environment you can't get rid of them. They do make good target practice. Miss one and you'll probably not get a second shot.
UT you have a mouse squeaker call? Good hunting.

Looks like the kitty likes the snow. Me too, in small, controlled doses. They took quite a few pics at work. I'll have to wait to see them on the server. It is snow.
I will say a cool day with high humidity and wind down here is miserable. As is a hot day with high humidity and no wind.
The...
Nutria
Built my house here back in 1993 I think, there was one stoplight between the end of the causeway and my house, now there are seven. I was in Vegas for a trade show but the president of the company I worked for was in that pileup. Funny thing was several causeway patrol officers ran into...
I like Mandeville, it is a community you could pick up and put in any state and be at home.
They may close the Causeway! Now that is funny, about 40-50,000 cars cross it daily. No one is getting any work done here.
I will take the cold over the heat and humidity any day.
JO
It is still snowing and they are closing bridges and roads. Snow is a big deal here, no plows or salt/sand trucks. I live in Mandeville. The ride to work was full of bent trees and broken limbs due to weight of the snow.
Tomorrow it will be 60.
For the third time since I lived here we have snow. It is the first time it has stuck. it will be gone soon but is an unusual sight here. I was the only person in the weight room at my normally crowded gym. Schools are closed and kids are playing in their yards.
My primitive weapon is a T/C Stainless Steel .50 cal muzzle loader with a scope. It will put three bullets together at 100 yards. I would like to hunt with my .44 mag pistol but am more accurate with my bow! Weapons and clothes have come a long way. Yes, you stay warm and dry with almost nothing...
Rugby
They make treestands that handle 300+ pounders. I am pushing 240, but my treestand days are over. I hunt from the ground mainly using one of those folding chairs you use for tailgating. A lot of the time I just lean against trees. With age comes wisdom, it is a long way down out of the...
JO
Same for me. My buddy got a nice buck Monday PM. We almost had to step on the them to get them up Monday, it was cool and VERY windy. I saw 100's of deer, many up close and personal, but no big bucks. I did see a half white buck, piebald not albino. We had access to probably 1000 acres of...
I'm not sure how a deer hunting thread got hijacked into hockey, but hey that is BP.
So JO how did the hunt go? Were you warm and dry.
I have my deer hunting clothes, gun and bow ready to make my annual trek to Ohio. Sounds like it will be cold with possible snow, good! Been reading a few...
Give me the cold!!! I have a jacket I have never worn in LA. The summers zap my energy and I lose weight.
It is funny to see how the Southern half of the country reacts to cold. I have seen jackets, hats and gloves already and like nutria said the low has been upper 30" lower 40's, but it...
Don't forget the nutria thread.
Seems to me the best way to get rid of them is to get rid of what they eat. I thought I had read that they eat grubs and worms. You can poison them, I think they make poison gummy worms for them, but it lacks the drama of being directly involved in their death...
