Kelly and Day are essentially the same? Yes, Day is part of the Kelly coaching tree, obviously but I think there are some pretty stark differences between the kind of offense Day likes to run (see Ohio State 2019-2023) and the offenses Kelly traditionally prefers to run.
Between the Michigan...
Howard was obviously knocked hard and definitely wasn't himself afterwards. I feel like Ohio State would have 100% gotten a targeting penalty if that were a Buckeye defender turning into a missle and rocking a QB that was obviously sliding.
The ACC has been the most fun conference to watch this season.
I don't think Clemson beats SMU in a fair game, but you include the possibility of ACC refs trying their best to screw the Mustangs.
But after what Florida State said about SMU, I want them to win the conference so bad.
I'm hearing there were three seniors who confronted Day after the game and things got pretty heated...
If true, he's completely lost the locker room and his days are numbered.
Also, maybe I forgot aome abysmal years, but I feel like neither Urban or Tressel would have let tackling and special teams reach some of the lows that we've reached during Day's reign so far.
There's some points where you know a delivery guy was outside of Tressel's house asking himself "Who...
OK. So if I have one coach for the whole season leading up to Michigan, it's Tressel. No doubt
If I just have them for one game, it's Urban.
Urban would get a more immediate reaction from players, because if you screw up he's going to rip into you.
But I always felt like Tressel built...
The greatest Goal Line stand was against Wisconsin in 2012 when Ryan Shazier launched his body and Monte Ball fumbled away his chance at breaking the NCAA career rushing TD record against the Buckeyes
It's about time the DL got their shit together. The pass rush on that first drive was so abysmal I was ready to throw myself off a building.
We got it together at the right time too. The only good thing about having no pass rush and a complete scheme change this late in the year is that teams...
As much (completely unfair) criticism as he's gotten from our fans this season, of all the recent QBs we've had Howard is the one I would pick to lead the team in a big game.
We've had more physically talented QBs recently for sure, but I'll take Will's attitude and leadership over the stint...
