If you limited that to Phillies "fans", I would agree with you. When the Yankees, the Yankees' JV team (aka the Mutts), and the Red Sox come to Citizens Bank Park, 75% of the fans there are for the opposing team.
Phillies "fans" are probably the most fair weather fans in baseball. When...
They had a courtroom & jail at Lincoln Financial Field when it first opened as well.
With the exception of Las Vegas & SoFi Stadium in LA- I've been to Giants games at every NFL stadium. Philadelphia is the only place I've been in a fight.
I've seen Eagles fans go after a Giants fan in a...
I would agree that Philadelphia is more of a pro sports city, but their fan support depends on the team. They sell out the Wells Fargo Center & Lincoln Financial Field regardless of how good/bad the Flyers & Eagles are.
They only support the Sixers when they're good... As for the Phillies...
Now that they have improved in recent years, there's been more interest in Temple football. If they can only keep a solid coach (Golden, Rhule, Addazio), and not be a jumping point.
You will be shocked when you hear this- coverage of Penn State athletics is not a top priority in suburban Philadelphia.
It's surprising with football- since Temple is the only FBS program between Philadelphia and State College. Most of the schools between Philadelphia and State College (Penn...
I think Winthrop beats Villanova as well, especially since Villanova has at least one crucial player hurt. Colin Gillespie (Villanova PG) tore his MCL against Creighton right before the BE Tournament, and is out for the season.
I have two 13 seeds (Liberty & Ohio University) winning their first game. Two 12s (Georgetown & Winthrop) winning, and at least two 11s (Syracuse & Utah State) winning. If Wichita State beats Drake, I think they beat Southern Cal.
If any 11 seed or lower can go on a run, I think it's Syracuse...
Listening to him cover a Dook-UNC game, I wouldn't say he's a UNC fan. Dook's head cheerleader's nose is so far up Coach K's ass, he can tell you what Coach K had for breakfast!
I don't think Virginia gets that far....
Gonzaga-Iowa in the round of 8 should be interesting.
You're going to hate hearing this- I don't think Michigan gets seriously challenged. Georgetown beats Colorado, and I'm not impressed with Florida State. I'm just not sold on Alabama (or any team...
