I understand all that. I even agree to a degree, but BP is pretty much the only place not discussing the players' tweets. I think that's interesting. After Rashard Mendenhall's tweets last month I think we can agree that we can actually learn from their mistakes. Did Rashard make a mistake? Yes...

I love this sight and the moderators/administrators (except like everyone else JCOSU), but I have a question about the twitter policy. I don't particularly love the format, but I do have an account. Most of the people I follow are media people and I don't follow players, but why can't we post...

The last guy, John Porentas especially hits the homerun. There are fewer and fewer guys I'm willing to read because pageviews have become as important as ratings so "journalists" have become more and more like Mark May and Collin Cowherd. I've paired my reading list down a lot lately even...

I may read it. But honestly it all seems like dressed up subjectivism.

I'm wondering what post modern critiques you are referring to are. Maybe they are bogus. I don't have enough information.

Nobody who knows Tressel personally is willing to say anything less than full support for him. I find that encouraging about him. I know it doesn't help with the NCAA violations, but it is encouraging. The only people who are saying anything negative about the man don't know him.

The Science of Why We Don't Believe Science

This seems so opposite to what I understand: it is our subjective perceptions that align or don't with objective reality. Subjectively, because I'm colorblind I percieve purple as blue. My perception doesn't make the purple blue. It's just how I see it. There is "real" answer though, objective...

I have a different take. I don't know where else we would be besides heaven if we are present with the Lord. I do think though the difference is the way we will experience eternity. I don't understand eternity to be measured by time because time is a part of creation. I think experientially...

I do believe the teachings of heaven and hell are important, but they aren't what I put my faith in. I think another one of Paul's writings sums it up nicely: I think it also implies the reverse: if He did indeed rise then it means everything. Then it means that for whatever reason God in His...

To me this life is merely preperation for the afterlife. Also on the neo-calvanism I read that too, which unless I misunderstand I agree with. There shouldn't be anything in my life that isn't affected by my walk with Christ especially if as Paul (with whom I know you disagree ) says I still...

Interestingly, I've heard of Driscoll, read and listened to him, but have never heard the term Neo-Calvinist. I like Driscoll, though I'm not a Calvanist. You've caused me to google - wiki. And to your observations: 1.) I don't think most evangelicals consider Rob Bell an evangelical...

That doesn't explain why I should care. Why I should obey some golden rule? Or the rules you say follow it.

Nice. Why should I care about the golden rule?

Where Brewtus do you get the idea that those acts are immoral? Edit: That's not a full answer to your whole post I know, but I'm getting ready to embark on more important business. On the Golf course.

I guess I was saying how we probably should evaluate. But as for Christians Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:21: Also by his question he wasn't asking for some standard of evidence that only pertained to me? Why would he? Why then would I use I?

No, I think you got it. Unless I can't in turn understand you. :wink2: Edit: And on another note I've managed to post something that someone else agreed with. I feel like I've accomplished something.:D

I don't understand what you're getting at. Each individual from all people. I have to strive to figure out the truth as best I can. There's a possibility I've missed it because I'm not omnicient. Being certain doesn't make me right. Being right makes one right.

I think we've established that empiricity isn't the only means of aquiring some degree of certainty of truth. Have we not? Are you're saying it's neither true nor false that Socrates lived since we can't empiricly test it? Empiriclly prove that Alexander the Great conquered part of the world. If...
