Somebody, more motivated than I am, should go back and look at how many times the Reds have had the opportunity to hit a sacrifice fly and have failed to do so. It's absolutely killing me that they cannot hit a flyball to score a runner. It's getting to the point where I would almost be more...
True. I however, still want to see him play 3-4 times a week because of his defense, but he cannot, cannot be slotted into the #2 hole. Putting him in front of Votto effectively neutralizes Stubbs' biggest asset, his speed, because you can't run in front of Votto and it doesn't give Votto the...
Well, at least Stubbs isn't letting his struggles at the plate affect his defense. He covered some serious ground to take away what should have been an easy double from Loney. His play in Left-Centerfield ended up saving a run this inning.
The NBA is just a bad product on and off the court. It's difficult to watch an entire NBA Finals game, let alone watch what is happening in the offseason. How can you expect fans to be interested in the product when, for a couple of expiring contracts, a team can pick up a Joe Johnson type...
Just have to comment that Homer Bailey looked as good as I have ever seen him tonight. Not only was he consistently hitting 97 mph(which is as hard as he has thrown since the playoff relief appearance), but he was commanding his stuff as well. His breaking stuff was also very sharp. Great effort...
Hopefully nothing too serious is wrong with Cozart. If he isn't able to return quickly we might see the return of Soft-J to the team at SS.
Phillips doubles to lead off the top of the 6th. I wonder how we plan to strand him.
EDIT: Mesoraco comes up with a two out two run double that scored...
When we win games it's despite ourselves. When we lose games it's because of ourselves. We just play bad baseball. We don't know how to bunt(Stubbs and Cozart I'm talking to you) I cant remember the last time we hit a Sac Fly, when we manage to get on base, we consistently strand runners...
The last fan vote is between 5 players, none of which are Reds(Aaron Hill, Chipper Jones, Bryce Harper and 2 others). So, barring any injuries Cueto and Phillips are not going to be participating in the ASG. Jones deserves to get the last spot IMO. He's had too good of a career to not be...
Haha well I guess I should have waited two minutes to post because apparently he is going to Duke. Dave Telep is also reporting this. Too bad we really could have used him.
Don't know how to properly link it but Alex, from Eleven Warriors, retweeted this from earlier today. I know insiders from both OSU and Duke have, at one point or another, been confident that he would pick their respective school, so who knows. Hopefully his friendship with Laquinton Ross will...
Reds win 2-1. Tremendous game for Latos who gave up 2 hits all afternoon and kept the Reds atop the division. Just gotta hope now that Votto's injury is minor and does not lead to a prolonged absence.
There isn't a significant shift on for Beltran or Holliday, so it's not such a high percentage play, especially with Rolen at 3B. It's a matter of personal philosophy I guess, but I just think if they give you the base hit, you might as well take it, especially against that pitcher, in that...
Yeah, I understand that argument, but still do not think it was a dumb play on his part. In that situation there was nobody on base, so at best he hits a solo home run and he is facing a LHP, which we all know is not a favorable matchup for him. With runners on base I agree it makes no sense...
