but, if you are working on a piece of equipment with a "rack" or "stay"...it is easy (well...somewhat easy) to place the bar back when you are bonked...
long and short of this...
please define "rack"....
if "rack" is being on the military press (as this convo is about) reclined at the desired angle and having 3-4 "racks" to move the bar into position when one is "spent"....then anyone who questions this move has never seen a trap on their own body.

1-stupid asses (usually middle age moms...no offense) that use the bench press to do 30 minutes of crappy 10 lb. dumbell work. uh...the flat utility bench will work just fine for you sweeheart.
