I went to the game last night to check out Braxton and Bennett in person for the first time. Braxton was really impressive, especially with his throws to the sideline that were tucked between the safety and corner in the cover 2 Centerville kept running. The throw against his body on the dig...
People keep saying this, but I don't believe it to be true. I have seen him miss/get beat on blocking assignments in every game except Marshall (and I didn't really watch that game all that closely). And it isn't like he is asked to pass protect all that often because they like to utilize him...
I'm also not worried. Why? Because it's a nooner. Tress teams since 2002 (farthest ESPN's easy to access schedule goes back) have only lost 2 noon games: @TSUN in 2003 and @Purdon't last year. TSUN is explainable by a relative equality in talent, and the Purdue game took a historically bad...
My poll is an abomination this week, as it includes the same 25 teams as the loathsome AP poll, although in a slightly different order (I checked it against theirs to see if I left somebody out completely, and was aghast when I saw that). I'm going to give a little rundown on each team...
I'm with those that would like to see Berry get some touches with the 1st team, somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 carries or a series. Every time he touches the ball he is making things happen, and we can't really say that about all of our RBs. He has Saine's breakaway speed but is much more...
Man it is maddening living down here amongst these Juggalos. They label any sign of confidence as arrogance, unless of course, that confidence is shown in sUCk. It doubly bothers me that, as a fan of the Bengals and Reds, I have to root alongside these numbnuts during the summer and on...
I don't really think it rained that hard or consistently enough to affect his passing that much. The hardest rain during play was definitely when he almost threw the pick over the middle, but that rain only lasted about 5 minutes and definitely wasn't a downpour. I think the reason he only...
I'm a little bit different than those that are starting the big changes this week. I'm not going to make any huge changes based on Week 1. It's a goofy, goofy week where a lot of teams play teams so lousy that they can't lose and should be reserved for a scrimmage. For instance, Florida...
1. Alabama- They have everything you could want on offense, including a SR. quarterback and the 2 best RB's in the country IMO. They lost a lot on D, but Saban defenses are always tough.
2. Ohio State- Talent and experience everywhere. Possibly the best O-line under Tressel. If Pryor plays...
First, regarding Hebert, he has been a special teams standout for the past 2 seasons for the Bengals. I know he lead the team in ST tackles in '08 and was the ST captain last year. He will be on an NFL roster this year although it might not be the Bengals. All that said, he is really bad at...
This. Also, you have to take any 40-time listed with HS athletes with a huuuuge grain of salt since they aren't standardized whatsoever (I personally only take NFL Combine 40s at face value since it is a standardized process). It really doesn't matter what he runs though since he is obviously...
Firstly, hahahahahahahaha at U$C and especially at Kiffin. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual.
Secondly, I'll take a short break for the SC bashing and wonder if anyone else finds it extremely ironic that on the day the NCAA crushed a major program with major violations for...
IMO kids today are just good at taking multiple choice, standardized tests. They have to take so many nowadays, it's become an acquired skill. I got a 32 seven years ago, which is higher than my actual intellect would probably indicate, but I am one hell of a MC test taker.
Woof- After reading through again, a pro bowl appearance was the lowest honor a player could have received to get a point in the system. So their system wouldn't take into account those players at all, and that in part is my problem with the system they used.
There are a lot of guys...
I saw that and think this is another lazy attempt by ESPN at research. It allows schools that had 1 or 2 HOF'ers (and thusly many points for multiple pro bowls etc.) and little else to surpass a school that puts a lot more solid contributers into the league. I think putting more guys that...
