I thought every Sweet16 game was great except for Purdue-Kansas.
I don't root for the blue bloods, but I think they have the inside track. I thought UCLA was the best team I had seen all year. Before the tourney I had them, followed by Kansas, NC, Arizona, Duke and Kentucky as the best. It...
Sportstime Ohio (STO) is broadcasting a documentary on how "Hang on Sloopy" became part of Ohio State tradition. I think it's on tonight or tomorrow if you are interested.
So what is the best solution?
I have heard castration, but there is testosterone replacement, and what do you do with those rare but extant female offenders?
Then you have the death penalty, which surely eliminates the threat, but takes 18 years to carry out, and, as such, is very expensive...
I'm really glad I never had a child of mine child abused. I have always wondered what kind of sentence you would get if you took matters into your own hands. By the letter of the law that's premeditated murder and there has to be a deterrent to individuals taking personal revenge, but I gotta...
I guess we should point out that we don't know what, if anything, was done to Jeff by Jerry. It would make sense to me that Jerry would adopt a kid, but stay away from him to provide a cover for his secret life. It would also make sense to me that Jeff was brought into the family as a default...
On a psychological basis, I do understand that Jeff S's abuse may have its origins in the abuse he suffered from Jerry S. But we can't go down that road legally. Once you are a full adult, you have to be fully responsible for your choices. From a human empathy standpoint, I could look at Jeff...
Reading the comments over on BWI made me sick. Some of those people are more concerned how this affects PSU football than the allegations themselves. It is sick and truly evidence of a cult.
I don't get it. You oppose the sexual abuse of children while allowing for the accused to have their due...
I have no FB account. When the idea was presented to me, my thought was that I am a boring person. I go to work, I go home, I care for my elderly parents, I work at whatever Honey Buns wants me to do on days off, and I go to church on Sunday morning. During the week outside of that, I may see...
I saw Tate interviewed twice on Wed. Very impressive. He came off as mature and humble, and said all the right things in the right tone.
Time for him to work hard and compete and see what he earns.
My wife drug me to "The Resurrection of Gavin Stone" Sunday. My attitude going in was I am going to go to make Honey Buns happy. I prefer something non-fiction/historical - or the proverbial "based on a true story". I don't do romantic comedy and I get enough Christian inspiration from other...
This is my favorite reply post I have ever seen you make. One, great point. Two, I like the number of words. Lol.
Tate is listed at 5'11". I was too in HS. I was actually 5'9 3/4" without shoes and without craning my neck. There's a lot of lying about heights and weights in HS football...
Ditto.
Without going into specifics, I saw an interview sometime last fall. Didn't like what was said or the attitude it was said with. It was an impression I had. My buddy saw the same interview, chalked it up to the immaturity of a teenager, but he is really high on this kid.
The bottom line...
I'm sorry Mrs. Martell.
So let me get this straight - pointing out that there are really good players in front of him and likely coming behind him, that he is short for the position, and that he has ample confidence is criticism?
First, he will never read this, and if he does and cares, he...
I'm looking at what is in front of him, what is likely coming behind him, his height - and his personality. Let's just say this young man isn't lacking in confidence. Putting all that together, I see a recipe for an unhappy QB. But if I'm wrong, I'll be happy for him and the Buckeyes.
I'm not going to criticize this kid. I hope he becomes a great Buckeye. But for football and non-football reasons, I don't think he will ever take a meaningful snap at Ohio State as a QB. If I'm wrong, then ridicule me 2-5 years from now. But right now, that's what I think.
That is a great way to put it. I have been one of his biggest defenders, but "enigma" is a great word. We are talking about a player who is the Ohio State and B1G career TD leader. And one would presume he will shatter that record next year (assuming things get fixed), and end up with...
After a few days and some reflection, I still feel like there needs to be a shake up on the offensive coaching staff. However, something I/we may have omitted, or perhaps minimized, is how much credit goes to Clemson. I don't think they are 31-0 good or the Bucks are 0-31 bad. Their QB was a...
A good ways into the first half my son texted me, "Where is Mike Weber?" The Bucks had just run a play. I replied, "There he is out there in the flat catching another pass for -4 yards. Lol."
Not good when your offense is providing immediate and continuous comedic fodder.
I hope Urban isn't scouring message boards looking for tips. On the other hand, he doesn't have to. His comments post-game indicate he saw what we saw: basically offense that is inexcusable and intolerable. What is to be done about it is his call.
