    Refs Blow 5% of Calls

Who cares if they get all the calls right? They need to tighten the rules up a bit more: no "bail-out" calls where the offensive player initiates the contact (defenders have the right to space too); better "flopping" penalties (ala soccer); more calls on palming/double dribble/traveling; ...

[ROGER CLEMENS] Slip of the tongue? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2397288 I think he'll end up back with the Astros. Too bad he doesn't mention anything about where he's going to end up next year...but he did have this to say: Is this racially charged, an innocent slip of...

SPRING DRIVE 2006 - Part 4: Connections Discussion

I'm in Austin right now, but I live in Houston, which has some of the best (cancer) medical facilities in the world. I know a couple of MDs who I could give that to, but that'll be at least a month or so, if that's ok? Also, I just wanted to know what kind of specialists to pass this...

    03' NBA Draft

IMO, 1984 will be tough to beat, simply because of Jordan's presence (G.O.A.T.), but they also had Hakeem, Barkley, and Stockton as the big-namers... But you're right, as far as depth + superstar talent is concerned, 2003 is going to be the best for years to come.

    2006 McDonald's All-American Game

May be a little off-topic... but anyone watch the McD dunk contest? Didn't even know it was on... Oden looks good, but that wrist being sprained made me miss what i wanted to see most out of him: his jumpshot. Also, as mentioned before, he does seem to be able to get in position for the...

New York Knicks (2x NBA Champions)

ORL fans like BGriff should be happy (as long as they don't think about the fact that they traded Juwan Howard, T-Mac, and Reece Gaines for Penny, Darko, Arroyo, and Ariza...) because they get tons of caproom in the future. Sort of like, IIRC, 2001 when they were wooing Grant Hill, Tim Duncan...

I thought it was funny that Rasheed Wallace of all people referred to Darko as "a thug in practice." Wish him luck down in ORL, maybe the twin towers approach will work.

    Dunk contest gets booed!

People are saying he was going to attempt it from the tape...but after bobbling the dribble on his work-up to get to the line, he had a brainfart (he IS only a 2nd year player straight out of HS) and forgot about the line completely. A 2-handed FT dunk is still pretty impressive (Dr. J and MJs...

    Dunk contest gets booed!

Then you missed a hell of a show in 2000 when VC, T-Mac, and Steve Francis went buckwild in what is, IMO, the best slam dunk contest ever. None of the dunkers now could even touch any of those 3...although JRich's off the backboard between the legs was quite disgusting... BTW, has anyone else...

    Dunk contest gets booed!

All I know is that AI should have won off of the greatness of that off the back of the backboard reverse dunk + the bounce around the back dunk. Nate's dunks were good (even though he clipped Spud on that dunk), but I don'[t know if he should have won. Too much controversy; should have just sent...

    2006 Breakout/Surprise Players

I don't get to see too many tOSU games down in Texas, but in the games I did get to see, Datish was always downfield making blocks on big plays. I think it's safe to say he'll be even better than last year. D: I'll go with Laurinatis, since we always seem to churn out some nasty LBs. ST...

OSU vs. Miami or USC vs. Texas? What say you?

I'm going to have to say OSU vs Miami simply because although USC was drastically overhyped, the U back in '02 was even more overhyped. Bucks weren't given a chance (shouldn't even be Big Ten co-Champs, let alone in the title game; couple of breaks and they wouldn't be undefeated, etc). But...
