You guys don't get it... Hoke isn't recruiting a football team, he's building the deathstar of hotdog eating teams. When he finally gets it assembled, we're screwed.
Little snippet about Verlon in an article about Findlay's signing day...

I bet he feels like an ass when he reads back through and sees that line. I've been on the fence for this whole things because its so bizarre. A part of me thinks this guy got into an online relationship, was ashamed of it, and then handled it completely wrong, but after reading through that...
Catfish is a documentary show on MTV similar to what uluk explained, but its not made up. The creator was a victim of a fake online girl, and he meets up with people who are in long-term online relationships to help them track down the mysterious other party. If he looks into it and its...
I think the new "mad max" style facemasks that a lot of the d-linemen are starting to wear is a good example of this. They may be functional in keeping fingers out of your facemask, but my guess is that this is more of a fashion statement to try to look intimidating. Seems like these would just...
Mixed feelings on this. As I've gotten older NYE has become more meaningless, but I still don't feel like I'm going to be able to sit around and enjoy football games with the other things that are going on that evening. This is on the opposite end of the spectrum of playing the BCS Championship...
Not sure how those winning percentages are more telling than their records, unless Bleacher Report just assumes the average reader is too dumb to realize they're the exact same thing.
Here's a pretty good article on yahoo, may have already been posted in butthead's thread. I'm too young to really remember much other than the games from when Alvarez was coaching, but this comes off as somewhat respectable, even if there are underlying reasons for it...
I don't know what he's getting paid now or what Arky offered him, but it seems like if he's asking to coach the Rose Bowl then there would've been some negotiation with Wisky to attempt to leverage a raise before he bailed. It'd be interesting to see if the whole Alvarez thing does tie in with...
I think Saban is the only guy I can think of that left the B1G and went on to success in the SEC. I think this sentiment is coming from the fact that there have been a number of guys with B1G ties end up successful in the SEC like Meyer, Miles, and Saban.
Also put Texas at 16. Not surprising for a guy who treats the entire game as "snack break".

This will make the game on September 14th a lot more interesting. Looking back through the last few recruiting classes, Cal has some talent on the roster. If Hazell could turn Kent State into a top 25 team in his 2nd season, I imagine it wouldn't take him long to make Cal competitive. Obviously...
It's been repeated ad-nauseum, but Pelini has to be the biggest a-hole in college football, including Brian Kelly. The guy was screaming at kids even after the 70 yard scramble by Martinez. I can't believe the university doesn't tell him to tone it down.
