  1. CB Gareon Conley (Official Thread)

All this good news in November, I can't wait to see what Urban has up his sleeve for December and January.
  2. Jalen Hurd (RB Tennessee, transfer to Baylor)

I don't necessarily disagree, but there is a reason that there are 100s of college players that are 6'3, and almost none of them play the RB position. There are always exceptions to every rule, so who knows, but it is worth talking about in my opinion. That height is an advantage at most...
  3. CB Gareon Conley (Official Thread)

It does seem like Conley is trying to walk a tightrope though so he doesn't burn any bridges with Michigan. Doesn't sound like he spent much time in Columbus and I think he may have only stayed for part of the game.
  4. RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

How many do we have this year? The most I can remember is the Brew Crew year where I believe we had seven with Brewster, Adams, Stoneburner, Posey, Thomas, Shugarts and Pryor. There may be an eighth that year that I am forgetting? Sabino?
  5. tOSU Recruiting Discussion

No doubt. In terms of some of the bigger names, Quick had to have been impressed, especially in comparison to Louisville, who lost to UConn today. I understand the hometown has a real draw, but he should have seen today that there's no comparison between the programs. It was also nice to see...
  6. CB Gareon Conley (Official Thread)

He was confirmed as in attendance today as a guest if the Buckeyes. Not sure what that means exactly in terms of if he still is considered a commit by Michigan, but definitely a positive for the Buckeyes.
  7. OL Demetrius Knox (Official Thread)

Woah, this is getting interesting. If he ends up actually visiting for The Game and making his college choice 2 days later....I think we might have a real chance here. Also possible he's using OSU to create a little intrigue surrounding his announcement, but who knows.
  8. tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Definitely an interesting option. Just a guess, but I would think they are Plan B if OSU can't land Mike Mitchell and another elite guy (Trey Johnson?). If they can't get 2 pretty elite guys that are likely to make the 2 deep immediately, I could see one of the JUCOs making a lot of sense.
  9. Taivon Jacobs (Maryland WR)

I got shouted down for saying the same thing a couple pages ago. I do agree with you that he is one of those rare guys like Brad Roby or Teddy Ginn with the chance to start on whichever side of the ball he ends up on. In terms of D, he'd have the same issue Ginn would have had, which is his size...
  10. JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

Yeah, I saw he had us 5th in August. I just kind of assumed (hoped?) that maybe we'd moved up a bit since he mentioned us as one of the two schools recruiting him the hardest and also said we were one of the two who would definitely get a visit. Anyway, nice to at least be solidly in the game...
  11. JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

Very interesting. I didn't realize OSU was so high on his list (at least that's how it seems). Seems like a great kid and great player. I'd assume he is one of the highest priority recruits overall for the Buckeyes. To have a truly elite defense, you need to have DBs who can lockdown WRs in...
  12. OH RB William Houston (Bowling Green signee)

Great news. Awesome to get a walk on who is a legit DI talent. His lack of BCS offers may be more of a reflection on the importance of the FB in today's college game than an indictment of his talent level. Though he's a legit LB prospect as well so I guess there's no guarantee he ends up on offense.
  13. LB Trey Johnson (Official Thread)

Positive. He sais a couple months ago he was solid to Auburn but just looking around so he'd have a backup plan if anything "crazy" happened at Auburn. I think he was pretty obviously talking about the coaching staff. So Chizik leaving would definitely help I think.
  14. tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I don't think there's much doubt that there will be some player led activities that somewhat replace the bowl practices that are led by Braxton, Bryant and the other team leaders. Probably not as useful as bowl practices, but if guys are hungry they should be able to make real improvements over...
  15. '14 PA S Montae Nicholson (Michigan State signee)

Really impressive combo of speed, athleticism, ball skills and physicality. One of the more impressive 2014 highlight reels I've seen.
  16. Malik McDowell (DL Cleveland Browns)

Sounds like he has grown into more of an OL prospect if the reported weight is correct. You almost hope he doesn't grow too much taller as it almost becomes a liability at some point. Warriner does seem to prefer the very tall tackles though so he could be a great fit here.
  17. CB Gareon Conley (Official Thread)

This is huge. Probably my favorite of the OH guys in their recruiting class and if Urban is making him a priority, I really like our chances.
  18. LB Raekwon McMillan (New England Patriots)

I totally agree. The 2014 class is shaping up well, but the one thing that could really put it over the top is for a top national recruit to commit early and start helping to recruit other top players to join him (like Brewster did a few years back). Both in GA and beyond. Often times that...
  19. DT Michael Hill (Official Thread)

Crappy news on the injury. Very impressive film. He plays really low for a guy his size which is so important.
  20. RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

Yeah, I think you have to look at his great performances at the camps and combines and his track times. Because you can tell his high school competition is laughably bad.
