My family and friends head to New Orleans every year for New Years. We have a LARGE balcony entertainment suite, right on Bourbon Street, in the heart of the French Quarter.
This is the EXACT same suite that CBS...
You are about 5-8 minute walk to Bourbon Street... Not too bad.. I've never stayed there but you should be fine... and it is not too far from the game either.

I've been lucky enough to catch most of the Sugar Bowls over the last 15 years.
Tickets are fairly easy to come by EVERY year that:
It is not the National Championship Game
LSU is not playing
I once had someone offer me 2K per ticket for my AWESOME National Championship Tix where LSU...
I had some friends burn Hilton points there last year.... they said the walls were thin and their room smelled like smoke....
That being said, the location is awesome! Right on the edge of the FQ and near the casino too!
If you are getting a good rate, you should be fine.
Alot of the vehicle traffic in the French Quarter/ Superdome area gets shut down, made one way or otherwise screwed up... If you plan on taking a cab from Metairie or anywhere else, come EARLY.... By early, I mean at least 5 hours before kickoff.... Once they start shutting down the streets...
Be sure to keep in mind that the seating chart tends to change a little bit in the lower level from that of Saints Games.
For the Sugar Bowl, they pack in 1000-1500 kids (mostly high school marching bands for half time) on the field, on the sidelines... So those lower row seats between the 5...
