  1. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

Man, you don't know much about anything, do you. The word "consensus" is exactly the wording the NCAA uses. In the NCAA Record Book I reference earlier, page 88, you'll see a section called "consensus national champions" and they list Ohio State in both years. If that's not the NCAA calling...
  2. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

Yes, we are in agreement here. Your wording was you were "confirming" the NCAA. I'm not sure I'd use a non-official source to do that. Where do you think stassen get's his information? Come on, he's taking it from the same place, and just makes mistakes. I've sent him several corrections...
  3. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

You have no clue how the NCAA keeps their records, do you?
  4. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

I found it humorous you are "validating" the NCAA with a "who cares?" site. Of course not, but official is official and it's what everybody who matters will accept. I don't know that you have to be motivated to be wrong. The NCAA calls them a consensus champion. I'd say yes. In...
  5. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

The fact is, what the NCAA say is official.
  6. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

The US Senate must be mistaken too, as they noted that Texas won their 800th game after they beat USC. Come on, some guy with website say it, so it must be so? Give me a break. The Texas Tech forfeits were not mandated by the NCAA. No specific games were mentioned, none were forfeited and...
  7. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

The NCAA does not. You can look those up in team media guides to find out where Stassen has it wrong.
  8. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

I'm saying that you can find Ohio State at #3 at these ad hoc sites, and who would care except a bunch of message board geeks? Unless they are #3 according to the NCAA, they aren't #3.
  9. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

Regardless if the records can be verified definatively or not, these are still what people are going to go by. If Ohio State doesn't become #3 on the NCAA's list, they aren't #3. Considering how many percentage points they are behind Texas, Texas would have to completely melt down to give...
  10. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

Either your source is wrong on Oklahoma and Texas, or the NCAA is. I'm picking the NCAA.
  11. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

The NCAA publishes the list every year. You can buy the book if you like. Online, you can get it here: http://www.ncaa.org/library/records/football/football_records_book/2005/2005_d1_football_records.pdf Page 76 has the winning percentage list...
  12. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

Heh. A guy makes a post that has incorrect records for 3 of the 5 teams and misses one team, and I'm the one asked for proof when I point that out. That's funny.
  13. We Can Move Up To 3rd In All-Time Winning Percentages This Year!

There's no passing Texas this year. Texas only has 310 losses, not the 313 listed there. Plus, Oklahoma is currently 4th on the list and Ohio State is currently 6th.
  14. Speed

At the risk of sounding simplistic here, what relevance is there in overall winning percentages? Southern teams play mostly southern teams (and visa-versa) so if they are winning a lot of the games, it does not mean they are better than teams they aren't playing, just dominating their region...
  15. Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Possibly it was more like, "We'll sucker them into coming into our stadium and drop them for the return trip".
  16. Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

South Carolina had this same infraction a year or two back. It's a secondary violation and is not a big deal.
  17. Since 1951, Woodys 1st year....

What do you want from a school that uses "boomer/sooner" as a cheer? Something that makes sense?
  18. Since 1951, Woodys 1st year....

It bugs me too. I've been told by Oklahoma fans that it just sounds better. That's the best I can do, sorry.
  19. Since 1951, Woodys 1st year....

Yeah, and you're lucky the NCAA limited the guide to 208 pages. You should have seen last year's guide.
  20. Since 1951, Woodys 1st year....

You're not kidding. I go the other way. Since I can't tell you which is right (and neither can those other sources), I always go with the team I am checking with. That can mean both teams win a game, but it's factually accurate to the source that the NCAA and media outlets use and doesn't...
