      Real stuff is convenient.

I plug in my POD to the USB port and record directly to the computer. Works pretty well.

It's good for that once you get used to it. I use it for recording too, but I can't write worth a shit anymore..

I definitely know Glassjaw. My old band actually covered a couple of their songs (maybe three, but I only remember two). Ry Ry's Song and Tip Your Bartender. I'm familiar with Minus the Bear too. A couple good friends of mine are obsessed. I enjoy them, but haven't listened to them much.

Reznor has posted the files he used to make the songs on a website, so I've downloaded those.. I load whatever files of those that I want to use in Fruity Loops and make the music. Then I export the file to reason and load better samples (strings and piano sounds are better in Reason, but it's easier to write in Fruity Loops). Then I mix with Adobe Audition.

      It's complicated and difficult..

Born of Osiris is pretty brutal. I liked your friend's band more though. Lower Definition was probably my favorite of the stuff you recommended. I haven't really been listening to much metal lately.. I've been trying to remix some Nine Inch Nails songs. I've failed all times except once.

Just made that one. Like usual, my best riffs are hidden behind sloppy solos.

fyi I used a slide in this song, which is generally bad news for listeners.

 Down like a clown Charlie Brown. Sweet. So far, we've got three. I fully expect that number to swell to untold thousands this evening.

Seriously though, I'll get the total number and pm you later on tonight/early wed morn...well, you know what I mean. Around 3-4 a.m.

I expected far worse from your old band. :p

It actually was pretty good, considering that I don't really listen to that kind of stuff. Our bands should've played together. Haha

I have. I've grown kind of tired of Killswitch though. Listened to them waaaaay too much for a little while.

 Yeah, no kidding. When the company I worked for got the contract to rip up and replace a big chunk of sidewalk in front of Hamilton Hall, over by the tOSU medical campus, I made my boss promise me that Woody never walked on that part. If he had, I wouldn't have torn it out.

Well, imo, it's all important. I mean..it's his passion that set him apart. One of my favorite quotes ever...and not even because it's from Woody...but it's...

"I've had smarter people around me all my life, but I haven't run into one yet that can outwork me. And if they can't outwork you, then smarts aren't going to do them much good. That's just the way it is. And if you believe that and live by it, you'd be surprised at how much fun you can have.”

There's also the story about him going to Vietnam to visit troops. Where he stopped in to talk to the Ohio boys in the hospital. He promised one guy he'd visit his family back home and deliver a letter and let them know their son was ok. It's the good and the bad that made up Woody. The bad was well known, because it happened in public...but he still didn't go around telling everyone the good he had done. That, imo, is what made him a great man.
