I think that Day wants a fresh perspective with his new hire. When Chip was brought in, it was the "CEO Ryan Day" and he needed someone he could trust with his offense. Now that he won a NC, Day can go out and hire someone who can help the offense evolve.

That's really what this all hinges on, do they clean house and let a very experienced coach run the program? Or is he going to hate dealing with the people in AA who (at the very least) tolerated the scandals? I'm hoping they have an epic collapse and Whittingham is doing color on ESPNU in 2027.

100% Their best case scenario is to spend for coordinators and hand over the keys to one of them when/if KW cleans up that mess.
