XB Xavier Johnson (Houston Texans)

BUFFALO BILLS SIGNING OHIO STATE WIDE RECEIVER/RUNNING BACK XAVIER JOHNSON AS UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT

He’ll still face an uphill battle to making the Buffalo Bills’ roster as an undrafted player, but overcoming the odds is nothing new for Johnson.

“I think my main thing is when I walk in that door, I’m gonna be ready to do anything and everything from special teams to playing on that first day as a receiver, playing as a running back,” Johnson said after Ohio State’s pro day. “If they tell me that they need me to kick, then I’m gonna be out there kicking for six hours a day to try to figure it out. So I’m just gonna put my best foot forward. I’m gonna glorify the Lord first and foremost, try to show that I’m an accountable young man and look up at the end of my career, just like when I did got here, and I think I’m gonna be happy with my results.”

This makes me so happy!

Great landing spot for him imo. Not that Buffalo doesn't have some talent at WR, but there is an opening to make the cut. Plus he's used to the underdog role and having to fight for a spot, really hope he can show out in Buffalo. Lots of great moments, but I will never forget that crucial TD catch against ND. Rooting for him in the biggest way.

He’s gonna make the 53 man roster somewhere……u don’t find kids like “X” that often. He’ll never last on the practice squad….too many holes across the NFL in general. Dude will be another Nate Ebner in some capacity….

PASS OUT THE DEGREES. Ten Ohio State football players were among the over 12,000 students to participate in the university’s graduation ceremony on Sunday. They were Xavier Johnson, Ty Hamilton, Patrick Gurd, Chad Ray, Max Lomonico, Quinton Burke, Sam Hart, Parker Lewis, Cameron Martinez and Andrew Moore.

Johnson graduated with his master’s degree in translational data analytics after receiving his bachelor’s degree in consumer and family financial services. In five seasons with the Buckeyes, the Cincinnati native recorded 70 touches for 682 yards and three scores. On April 29, he signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent and will attend training camp with the franchise this summer.
