WR Terry Glenn (1995 Biletnikoff Award & NFL Pro Bowler, R.I.P.)

I have to admit, one line in this story is pretty funny...if that constitutes Buckeye Bashing, so be it:

Terry Glenn Arrested Again | History of Trouble, Arrests for Ohio State WRs

According to Richie Whitt of the Sportatorium (via PFT), former Dallas Cowboy and Ohio State alum Terry Glenn was busted last week at a hotel for public intox and marijuana possession. Reportedly, Glenn was also seen roaming the halls of the hotel naked.

This marks the third arrest of the wide receiver that Bill Parcells famously referred to as ?she?. Glenn was also arrested for public intox in 2005 ? an arrest that occurred after officers spotted him taking a leak behind a fast food restuarant. In 2001, Terry Glenn was arrested for assault the mother of this son.

The continued legal troubles of Terry Glenn begs the question: What is it with ex-Ohio State WRs?

Let?s rundown the litany of issues faced by pass catchers who went to THE Ohio State University:

Terry Glenn

See above

Ray Small

Suspended during 2008 season;
His father claimed that OSU and Jim Tressel were out to ?end his career?.

Santonio Holmes

Busted earlier this year with pot in his car;
Nude photos surface on the Internet;
Admits being a rabbit terrorist growing up;
Admit to dealing drugs while growing up.

Brian Hartline

Suspected of DFDUI (Declaring for Draft Under the Influence?of something) for going pro despite having a terrible junior season and being a white WR.

David Boston

Arrested for assaulting a ticket agent at Burlington International Airport;
Arrested for DUI before being released by Bucs;
Was suspended 4 games for violating NFL steroid policy;

Cris Carter

Suspended for senior season at Ohio State after signing with sports agent Norby Walters;
Flunked three drugs tests in Philadelphia while battling addictions to alcohol and cocaine (but to his credit, overcame the problems, became an ordained minister, and has helped countless others fight their own problems).

Ken-Yon Rambo

Arrested while a freshman at OSU and charged with disorderly conduct and marijuana possession.

That is a lot of trouble for players from one position of one school. So I guess, when we look at the history of Ohio State WRs, or really just Ohio State football players in general (considering Maurice Clarret and Alex Boone as additional examples), Terry Glenn?s recent arrest isn?t really all that surprising.

The moral of the story: Ohio State WRs appear to be as bad at running away from the cops and trouble as they are at getting separation from SEC DBs.

Former Patriots, Cowboys, and Packers receiver Terry Glenn is working as a coaching intern for the Dolphins.

The 35-year-old's 12-year career appears over. Glenn, who was arrested in February 2009 for marijuana possession after running through a hotel naked, finishes with 8,823 yards and an impressive 14.9 YPC average. A true deep threat and the No. 7 overall pick in '96, Glenn made his lone Pro Bowl for the Patriots in 1999, amassing a career-best 1,147 yards on 69 catches.

Glenn trying coaching: Former wide receiver Terry Glenn, who played for Bill Parcells in New England and Dallas during an 11-year career that ended in 2007, is spending time with the Dolphins as part of the NFL's minority coaching program.

Team spokesman Harvey Greene said Glenn contacted the Dolphins about getting started on the coaching ladder and was invited to participate in camp this summer.

DAVIE - Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry Glenn, who played under Bill Parcells for two different teams and was infamously referred to as "she" by the Miami Dolphins VP, is now working as an intern coach with the Dolphins.

Since training camp began, Glenn has assisted wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell.

Glenn caught 593 passes for 8,823 yards in his 12-year career. He played for Parcells with the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys.

Plenty of Parcells' former players have recently broken into coaching -- former New York Jets linebacker Bryan Cox, who started his career as a Dolphin, played for Parcells and now coaches the Cleveland Browns' defensive line. Another former Jet during the Parcells days, wide receiver Dedric Ward, is starting his first year as receivers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Parcells and Glenn's famous "she" incident occured in 1996, when Parcells was asked about Glenn's injury status and Parcells replied "She's doing fine". Any wounds have obviously healed, as the two reunited in Dallas even before Glenn's newest gig as intern.

Terry Glenn

As a Buckeye: The Brookhaven High School product was a bolt out of the blue: Glenn had 15 catches entering the 1995 season, then caught 64 passes for 1,411 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Buckeyes' high-octane offense in '95 to win the Biletnikoff Award.

As a pro: The No. 7 overall pick in 1996 by New England, Glenn had a huge rookie season (90 catches, 1,132 yards) and then was hit-and-miss on and off the field for much of the remainder of his career. He finished with 593 receptions, 8,823 yards and 44 TDs.

The skinny: When they were with the Patriots, coach Bill Parcells once dissed Glenn by referring to him as "she," but they made up. Glenn played for Parcells again from 2003-06 in Dallas, and had two 1,000-yard seasons in that span.

From two different sources?We are unfairly castigated here (OK, sometimes it is fair castigation, I?ll admit) when negative things are written about positive people. This week, we hope to turn that around a bit as we have received the same input from two different sources about Terry Glenn. Glenn was credited with famously psyching up the Michigan team before that game in 1995 by allegedly saying, ?Michigan is nothing?. What he actually said to Dom Tiberi when he was quizzing Terry on how he gets ready to play Michigan is: ?We have to treat Michigan like they are any other team, to think about them like they are nothing special?. It came out obnoxious and he has been run down ever since for it. Not deservedly, and the record is now clean?
